Chris and Sarah love exploring and being adventurous, but their idea of a nice outfit involves athletic wear and athletic wear only. Step 1 of Chris' plan was to have Sarah agree to a date once every weekend where they dress up. Here they went to The Cypress Gardens where the Notebook was filmed.

Chris told Sarah the next 3 weeks of plans. This weekend they were going to the Angel Oak Tree and then down to Edisto for a beach sunset and a nice dinner. Sarah jokingly sent a photo to her friends that this wasn't the weekend she got engaged.

Step 2 of Chris' plan was getting an outfit he was going to propose in. Now we mentioned they only wore athletic wear, well Chris also does not shop for clothing ever. If he showed up on a date with a new outfit, she would know. He decided to pick out this outfit and come home to let Sarah know this was the outfit he was proposing in and wearing on every date here on out. That meant Sarah could go shopping to find a dress that she would then wear during their next dates too. Little did she know, the next day was when he was going to propose.

This weekend's date was Magnolia plantation and a dinner date. Sarah woke up that morning a little stressed for an upcoming exam, so Chris "cancelled" their dinner reservations, throwing Sarah off even more. Chris thought it would be funny to fake propose to Sarah during their time at Magnolia Plantation, but he let her check his pockets for a ring. There was none. They left the gardens and Sarah again texted her friends, today wasn't the day she was getting a ring.

Meanwhile, Chris and Sarah's family were setting up a beach picnic on Folly Beach in the spot Chris scouted out months before. The ring box was set up there along with some mementos of their 9 year relationship.

Chris volunteers with the Marine Mammal Life Network in Charleston and once a month he is on call in case of a marine stranding. He was "on call" this weekend and as they were leaving Magnolia gardens, Chris received a text that there was a stranding. Little to Sarah's knowledge this was a group message with both of their families in it with their names changed to random phone numbers. Chris and Sarah had to stop and pick up some waters for the team (because some family members were running late). They received a picture of the seal that Sarah sent to all her friends to let them know how excited she was to go help save a seal.

Chris and Sarah walked down the beach looking for the stranding. Sarah told Chris that they should just look for a bunch of people crowding around the cute seal. They kept walking until they stumbled upon the picnic set up and Sarah stopped and said "Wait What's going on?"

That's where Chris got down on one knee and asked Sarah to spend the rest of their lives together. It was a resounding yes.

Some family and friends came out of their hiding spots to surprise Sarah and congratulate the newly engaged couple.

They then celebrated with a champagne toast on the beach.

They watched the sun go down and got excited to plan a wedding and embark on a lifelong journey together.
