Chrissa and Tate grew up in the same town and met in high school. They went to rivaling schools with Tate attending Zeeland West and Chrissa at Zeeland East. In February of 2019, they officially met again and began talking. In April, he asked her to be his girlfriend. The first 4 years of their relationship was spent an hour apart with Tate at Ferris State University and Chrissa at Grand Valley State University. Those 4 long distance years meant lots of traveling between colleges and only seeing each other on the weekends.

In July of 2023, Tate proposed to Chrissa in Washington D.C. while Tate was there for his schooling. He proposed at Dumbarton Oaks, a beautiful mansion with trails through private gardens and fountains.

Now, Chrissa teaches in Holland and Tate just graduated from the Michigan College of Optometry. He will be starting his first year as an Optometrist this summer. They are so excited to finally get to live in the same place and settle down in West Michigan.
