Should I bring my kids?
Yes, there is a daily children's program for ages 4-12 and free access to the water park.
Do I need a visa?
No, all you need is a US passport that does not expire within 6 months of arrival in DR.

What about food at resort?
The resort is all-inclusive so food and drinks are free in most of the restaurants on the resort.
What is DR weather like in February?
Daytime highs are in the 80s and nighttime lows are in the 70s. The sun is intense so bring sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses.
Will my cell phone work in DR?
Yes. If you have Verizon you can add the "Travel Pass" plan to your phone plan. Charges $10 per day calls/text/data only on the days you are overseas. Does not cost you anything when you are not overseas.
I'm not sure about other phone companies.
Do I have to worry about hurricanes?
No, February is outside of the hurricane season.
Is the DR safe?
Yes and No. Crime is higher in the DR than in the US but the resort areas are generally safer than other parts of the DR. Do not travel alone.
Cash or Card?
Outside of the resort, most places prefer or only take cash. The local currency is the DR Peso. The best way to get the Peso is at the ATM. You can exchange US Dollars for Pesos but get a better exchange rate normally from the ATM. Many places near the resort will accept US Dollars.
What language do they speak in DR?
Spanish is the primary language but most people also speak English. At the resort, the staff speaks English.
