There are multiple ways to get to LaCrosse, depending on where you are coming from. LaCrosse is located along major highways and is home to both an airport (only 5 minutes from the church) and an Amtrak train station (be sure to plan in extra time if you choose trains, though, as they often run late). Additionally, the Minneapolis airport (MSP) is only 2.5 hours away and there is a good regular shuttle system between MSP and LaCrosse.

The wedding will be taking place on French Island, which is a few minutes by car from downtown LaCrosse. French Island is on beautiful Lake Onalaska and the Mississippi River, so great views abound.

While French Island is not overly large, we would recommend planning on having a car or planning on using Uber (which may take a little while) as this is a suburban setting and not easily walkable from most accommodations.

There are several very nice Airbnbs and Vrbos on French Island, including several on Lake Onalaska. We would also highly recommend Onalaska (15 minute drive) and La Crescent (10 minute drive), which are across the river on either side of French Island and have a great many Airbnb options for all number of travelers and tastes.

For those who prefer hotels, there are numerous options in downtown LaCrosse, including Candlewood Suites by IHG, Courtyard and Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott, and Home2 Suites and Hampton Inn by Hilton as well as boutique hotels such as the Charmant.

Note, the hotel on French Island, Norwood Inn and Suites, is not recommended.
