Christian and David met in the summer of 2019 while working together as research clinicians at Canisius College in Buffalo, New York. Christian was finishing up her undergraduate degree at Canisius and was about to start her graduate degree in School Counseling. David was home for the summer from Cleveland, Ohio, where he was working on his degree in Music Therapy. Their relationship began as co-workers and friends.

Christian and David continued to stay in touch, but reconnected in 2020, right before the COVID-19 pandemic. During this time, they continued to stay connected through texting, FaceTimes, and watching “Love is Blind” together virtually from their respective locations. When David came back home to Buffalo in the summer of 2020, he took Christian on their first date where they took a long walk through Delaware Park and David cooked Christian an amazing dinner.

After the first date, David and Christian saw each other every chance they could get. This eventually included weekend trips between Cleveland and Buffalo, and even meeting halfway in Allegheny for a one night tent camping trip in the pouring rain. Christian finished her grad program in June of 2021, and shortly afterward, moved in with David in Cleveland. Here, their family expanded by one, as they adopted their sweet pit-mix, Rue.

After an awesome year in Cleveland, David got accepted to work on his Ph.D. in cognitive neuroscience at Binghamton University - Christian and Rue tagged along. David popped the question at the location of their first date in Delaware Park in July of 2023. David and Christian are so excited to celebrate their love with all of their family and friends this August!
