WIth the various covid variants running at the beginning of 2022, (we thought we'd be past this) and the uncertainty that will be in July, we will be asking all guests to be vaccinated and boosted at a minimum. We will obviously keep an eye as the date is closer and evaluate if other protocols may be needed.

Our Wedding

Call it kismet. Christian, who has a history of traveling on weekends when he isn't in the PACCAR office in Renton, Washington, happened to be in Seattle one weekend. Brett just completed his first Dragon Boat race in Olympia, Washington, and stayed in nearby W. Seattle overnight before heading back to Portland. The chances of our being in the same geographical space at the same time, and perchance meeting one another...call it kismet.&nbsp; Since then, after a few years of Portland-Seattle romance, going between the two cities as so many couples do, by train, plane, and automobile, with COVID 19 quarantine in Portland, OR, we actually lived 24/7 with one another! And we still like one another! And love one another! So, we've decided to make it "official," calling family and friends together as we officially announce to the world we are&nbsp;husband and husband, or Opa (Christian) and Pops (Brett) to our granddaughther&nbsp;Edie! And we hope you will join us in this celebration of love, of life-long friendships, family in all its forms, and all-around revelry on this pilgrimage of life.&nbsp;

Fly direct to Portland. Other options include flying to Seattle and driving down, or taking Amtrak to Portland. Direct flights to Seattle can be cheaper than Portland. But the drive between the 2 cities, depending on day and time of day can be 3-4.5 hours.

They've graciously offered a special rate starting Wednesday before the wedding day and extending thru Tuesday after, giving you plenty of time to explore the area. Come for a Vacation!  

There is a LOT to do in Oregon, from the beaches and coastal towns along the Pacific, to Eastern Oregon, with small towns, gorgeous mountains, hiking, exploring, and WINES. Central Oregon has its share of great adventures, from forests to mountains to climbing rocks. And Portland of course! Below are just a few suggestions. Be sure to click the "website" button below each item for additional information!

Take the back roads out to Hood River, and visit all of the falls along the way, especially Multnomah Falls. Be sure to stop at Vista House for the view. Lots of wineries and cideries in the vicinity as well.

Take time to explore the western shores of Oregon, including Cannon Beach, Manzanita, and other great spots.

Portland offers a lot of great restaurants, cultural venues, hiking spots, and shopping. Check out the Portland Art Museum, walk along the water front, visit OMSI or the Portland Zoo with the kids. The International Test Rose Garden is just lovely and all incorporated in a large park where you can also find the zoo and the Japanese Gardens. There is a great Saturday Market as well.

Mario Díaz is a guitarist, singer, audio engineer, and educator whose musical activities have taken him across the U.S. and South America. A member of the Oregon Guitar Quartet, he has also performed with Portland Opera, 45th Parallel, Fear No Music and Third Angle New Music. He is a faculty member at Portland State University and Portland Community College, Director of the PSU Guitar Series, and head of the guitar program at Young Musicians & Artists.
