Christiann and Anthony met their sophomore year of college bowling with mutual friends. After getting over the awkward introductions, the conversation quickly turned to sports, specifically the Chicago Blackhawks. They talked the entire night trying to one up each other on their "knowledge" of hockey. Once they left, Christiann called her best friend and mentioned "the one cute blonde guy" and how she was excited to see him again later that week. What started as a simple game of bowling with friends turned into over six and a half years of memories.

Christiann and Anthony invited their friends over for their annual Friendsgiving. As Christiann focused on getting dinner on the table, Anthony was counting down the minutes until he was going to get down on one knee. After multiple hiccups throughout the night, Anthony asked if they could take a picture together. At first Christiann asked to wait until after dinner, but Anthony persisted. With all their friends around (and Nellie, of course) Anthony successfully surprised Christiann with the question she had been waiting for.
