Codename: Curly Haired Goddess
Picture it. Stevens Point… 2012. Tim and Mary’s friendship began day one of college. Surrounded by what is now known as our Point Family, we all bonded over videogames and one weird guy with cereal and a milk addiction. Their friendship continued and could be described as “slightly chaotic” for lack of better terms. From rearranging apartments while the other is out of town (like Christmas tree in the bathroom) to arranging times to binge watch the Saw franchise, there has never been a dull moment in their friendship. Over the years, the Point Family began to grow and one of the best days was when Christie came into our lives. From hours of Critical Role to lazy days that involve naps and reading, Christie and Mary quickly became amazing friends. Mary could not contain her excitement when she found out that Tim FINALLY popped the question and Mary was even MORE excited when she was asked to officiate the marriage between two of her best friends. There are no words to express how honored she is to have the chance to marry Tim and Christie and yes…. Mary will have extra tissues for anyone else who will be shedding tears of joy at the wedding.
Wedding Party
Camille Shibilski - Bridesmaid
Camille first met Christie in grade school. They bonded over nerdy interests and Christie’s great storytelling during recess and playing Twilight Princess on gamecube together. The friendship continued throughout the years and deepened through shared work experiences, books, movies, and everything in between. Although they now live away from each other, we can always come back together for meaningful conversations and relaxing in each others presence. When Christie first introduced us to Tim, we could tell he was a special one with his humor and ability to bullshit right back to our nonsense, and after some Pokemon GO playing, was welcomed in with open arms for the nerd he is.
Mary Claire Shibilski - Bridesmaid
Mary Claire & Christie met in first grade and like the rest of our little group were on & off friends until we all finally snapped together like magnets you can’t get apart again. Bonding over reading, movies, tv, crafting, dressing up for books & movie premieres, watching stupid YouTube videos at Christie’s house, we did it all. Planning silly little parties and events, we were in plays, musicals, band, then started working together at Rockman’s, first for cash scraping dishes then working up to (what felt like) full time prep work, then working together at the movie theater. Convincing Christie to join the dance team in high school, first as manager, then as a dancer. Going to see concerts and plays, driving all over the state. We all finally figured out we were all weird in ways we all loved about each other. We were always finding new things to love together, forcing each other to learn new things about ourselves, each other & the world. We all grew together and supported each other in ways that made us grow closer. We knew we’d always have people who understood us, or if they didn’t understand would love us anyway & would cry or cheer right along with us.
We’ve all been there for it all, and from the day Christie met Tim we could tell it was different, we watched as they grew to be close friends & hoped it would be more. When they finally got together we were over the moon & I still remember hearing the story as we were all together for a Harry Styles concert. Tim’s been everything we could want for our friend & I’m so excited for them to continue their wonderful life together.
Emma Ceplina - Bridesmaid
What do I write about a person I’ve known my entire life, a friendship so ancient? I can hardly remember a time in my life before meeting Christie, and thank God for that.
Best friends, coworkers, teammates, GRUBLETS!
There are not enough Facebook memories in the world to commemorate a LIFETIME of inside jokes, references and fan girling.
Can you guys believe that Tim and Christie chose Duran Duran’s 1982 classic “Hungry Like the Wolf” as their wedding song?
Ivy Engwall - Bridesmaid
Ivy and Christie have known each other for over a decade now (which sounds way longer than saying 10 years), though they often think that they’ve been friends for longer than that. Long ago, in the year 2013, Christie started working at a little theater called Rogers Campus Cinema where Ivy just so happened to work (with some other members of the wedding party). Christie’s fantastic sense of humor and love of Shakespeare prompted Ivy to ask her to go to a play at the American Players Theatre, and the rest is history. From friends to college roommates to co-managers of Rogers Cinema Stevens Point, these two have been through many adventures together! And of course, quite a few of those adventures included Tim! Watching Christie and Tim's relationship go from friends, to crushes, to today (they have a wedding website omg) has been a joy, and Ivy is honored to be in the wedding party.
Rachael Polden - Bridesmaid
Christie and I met in college 11 years ago, bonding over art classes. Tim and I met even further back, - 11 years plus 3 days! Together, the three of us shared many classes and experiences throughout our college years, forming a long lasting, energetic friendship. Christie and I had an adventure of a life time over in London during our junior year through a study abroad program, enhancing our friendship even further. She watched me fall in love while over seas, and when we came back I'm happy to say I’ve watched her do the same. Despite living in different states, we make it a point to meet regularly for fun board game weekends with other college friends. My friendship with Christie and Tim holds a special place in my heart and I can't wait to see what the next 11 years brings us.
Mary Workman - Bride-Knight
Across the foursquare courts of Whittier Elementary School in Kenosha, a girl with greasy Snape hair locked eyes with a weird ribbed boy whose collarbone was ripe for the breaking. From elementary school through college and beyond, Tim and I have grown up together and had each other’s backs through countless inside jokes, adventures, milestones, and routine sibling-like inflicted pranks and injuries. Tim has achieved a lot during the course of our friendship, but by far the best thing he has done is win Christie over. My love for Christie runs deep, as it’s not every day you find someone who understands all the same chronically online references and is so badass and cool and kind. I’m so honored to be part of Tim and Christie’s life and thrilled to celebrate another milestone alongside my sista-from-anotha-mista, TimTam the great.
Brad Woller - Bride-Knight
Oh? Is that Tim from a distance? No! It’s his slightly shorter bearded best friend who also has long hair! A friendship forged by the fires of public school Boy Scout camp, and a long distance marriage, this longstanding friendship of almost 15 years stands strong beside a 200 mile distance. Although saddened to give away the betrothed to her highness, he is static to celebrate with the couple as they did for him!
Alex Bong - Bride-Knight
It was the best of times and the worst of times… College. Day one and I had no friends. Then I saw Tim playing a retro game called Worms, so I invited myself into dorm room and told him I called next… From that moment on, we’ve been thick as thieves. From rock wall climbing to waking up at around 2am during finals week to hang out with Tim as he did his best work in the art studio, he has yet to get rid of me. I’m so excited to be running in (he can run?) to this 5 v 5 spit swapping, ring exchanging, smooches and vows match under the stage name Captain Crunch.
Luke Barker - Bride-Knight
I was tired of Christie bossing me around at work so I became friends with her boyfriend; then she and I had a kiki in a refrigerator box and figured it all out; so now I'm great friends with both of them and am so happy that they are getting married
Casey Nieman - Bride-Knight
Apparently I made a good first impression when meeting Christie because she hired me to work at the Movie Theater. Now I’m invited to her wedding, we play Dungeons and Dragons together, and have long talks about life while three bottles deep sitting in a large refrigerator box. She encouraged me to become an artist, and introduced me to one of my best friends, Timmy Z. I don’t know where I’d be without her or Tim, and the gallons of Wine we’ve enjoyed together.
