We are requesting formal attire for the wedding. Our venue is classy and historical so we would like to match the setting. We suggest that men wear a suit or sport coat in any color and women wear a knee-length or longer cocktail dress or pantsuit.
Can I bring a guest?
When you RSVP, there will be an overview of everyone included on your invite. We ask that only the people included on the invite attend our wedding. In order to give an accurate headcount to our venue we need to strictly adhere to our guest count.
Can we bring our children?
We love you and your little ones, however our venue strictly does not allow children of any age. We quickly realized what seems like an inconvenience will call for a fun, stress free, and much needed date night for some of our favorite parents!
Can I take pictures during the ceremony?
No. We will have an Unplugged ceremony. We ask that you please put your phone on silent and away to be fully present during our ceremony. Our fantastic photographer, Mallory, will be capturing every moment of our ceremony and reception so each guest including the bride and groom may enjoy the celebration to the fullest.
Is the wedding venue outdoors?
No. Our ceremony will be in a climate controlled covered pavilion, the cocktail hour is both indoors and outdoors - guest preference, and the reception for dinner and dancing will be inside the formal dining area.
The Tate House has beautiful grounds and buildings and we want our guests to see as much as possible. During cocktail hour, the interior of the mansion will be open and we encourage you to take a few moments to enjoy a walk through it.
Directions to venue
Please log your directions in advance to the wedding venue.
We suggest if you are coming up 575 then do NOT turn right on Worley Crossroads as it is a winding road surrounded by homes. Continue driving straight to SR-108 (this will make it a straight shot to the venue). It is an additional 1.25 miles (3 minutes) up the road.
Cell Reception is spotty and limited on site
Please be aware that most cellular services are spotty at limited at the venue. We have discovered that more calls will go through than texts when trying to reach someone. In addition, when leaving the venue, you will only be able to get directions after you have started driving down the road. So please be prepared so you know where you are going.
Are there accommodations?
We have all of the details on our accommodations tab.
There are definitely a lot of options, so many to where we chose not to do a room block and limit options to one spot. The bridal and groom parties will be staying in houses at Big Canoe which you may easily book anything from a treetop, to a small house, to a big house with multiple guests staying in one place. There are a few hotels in both Jasper and in Canton, each about 15-25 minutes from the venue in opposite directions on the highway. There are many airbnbs to rent around the area as well. We also assume people might just drive home so we are ending our reception at The Tate House at 10:30pm so people aren’t getting home too late. Our venue is conveniently located just off of Highway 575.
