The simplest way to get around Davao City is getting into a taxi. A typical trip can cost about ₱110-₱200 or approximately US$2-$5. More than usual taxi drivers in Davao rarely ever bargain if they notice that you are a tourist. If they do, simply state you prefer using the meter and if they refuse, get another taxi.
Taxis start their fare at ₱40 and charge ₱8.10 per kilometer.
One last thing, when you get to your destinations don't forget to say "salamat". This means thank you.
We wanted to list some accommodation options for guests travelling to Davao City for the first time. The hotels listed below are the hotels we recommend while staying in the Davao City.
Take the time to look through and please do not hesitate to reach out to either the groom or the bride if you have any further questions or if you want to know more about accommodations not listed here.
If you were interested in getting an Airbnb, feel free to share with us the places you were interested in so we can comment on the location.
One last thing: it is worth checking AGODA.COM for hotel bookings. Often time, they offer even lower rates than the discounted rates coming from the hotel. Always worth a try to check there.

Pearl Farm Beach Resort was once home to a pearl farm, where precious pearls were nurtured and cultivated as the ocean’s most beautiful gems. Today, it is Samal Island’s jewel; an exceptional destination just off the coast of the bustling Davao City.
Please note this resort is off the main land and additional transport is needed. A boat to and from the island is necessary. The good news is the dock for the boat is located near Waterfront hotel. But please understand, if you choose to stay in Pearl Farm, you have to consider it is some distance away from the main land and you will have to always coordinate a boat ride going and leaving the resort.
From the airport or other places in Davao: head to Pearl Farm Marina in Lanang Davao Beach Club. This is where you will board a boat to Samal Island, traveling for approximately 45 minutes. There are 4 trips to and from Pearl Farm daily.
Regular boat transfers:
Davao Marina to Resort – 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM
Resort to Davao Marina – 8:30 AM and 1:00 PM
Special boat transfers can be arranged with applicable charges. Guests are highly encouraged to reserve seats on their preferred boat trip and are advised to be at the Pearl Farm Marina 30 minutes before the boat’s departure to Pearl Farm Beach Resort, Davao.
Feel free to contact Pearl Farm directly for rates or reach out to the bride or groom if you would like some assistance in booking with this resort.
