Our Wedding

We met one unexpected night through mutual friends—and from the moment our eyes met, something clicked. We hit it off instantly and quickly realized we were meant for each other. From day one, we’ve been each other’s perfect match. We fell in love quickly, deeply, and completely. Through long-distance stretches across Colorado, Nebraska, Texas, and two unforgettable years in Alaska, our love never wavered. Now, we’re planting roots in Utah, building a home together with our beloved dog Luna—the heartbeat of our little family. This next chapter feels like a dream unfolding, and we can’t wait to see what life has in store for us, side by side.

From day one of preschool to causing chaos at Seussical the Musical rehearsals in elementary school, re-creating kindergarten graduation pictures in our high school graduation gowns to 21st birthdays and now weddings, Nina will forever be one of the biggest blessings in my life. I am so beyond happy for her and Kyle to start their life together and cant wait for the many more shenanigans we can get into all together. All my love to the happy couple!

Thinking of a favorite memory with Nina is pretty much impossible since we have so many! From always being each other’s dates to our sorority dances, to studying together almost every day in nursing school, to me crashing every ROTC event as Nina’s guest, our time in college was spent by each others side always. And after college we have managed to stay in touch and travel to see each other as often as we can. One memory that sticks out is when Nina Rachel and I went to LA together. It was the first time we got together since graduation from Creighton. We accidentally took an hour long uber to the wrong location but spent the whole ride laughing so hard our stomachs hurt. The uber driver kept making comments about how he had never seen a group of girls laugh so hard, especially sober. Even though we hadn’t seen each other in months it was like no time had passed the second we saw each other again. It’s rare to find someone one you can spend countless hours with and never get sick of. It’s also rare to find someone you can reconnect with after months apart and feel just as close to them. I am so lucky to have both experiences with Nina. While I wish we were still spending every moment together I cherish the times we still make our busy schedules work even from states apart. Having Nina in my life is a true honor and joy.

There is a treetop village on the grounds of Arbor Day Farms where you can explore treehouses and make your way along unique bridges and netted walkways! Have fun up in the trees! 

Treetop Adventure

Arbor Lodge State Historical Park is the original home of the Morton family. It was here in 1872 that the idea for the first Arbor Day began — as a way to encourage people everywhere to plant trees so desperately needed. On the first Arbor Day, nearly 1 million trees were planted in Nebraska. The highlight of this 72-acre park is the historic mansion, with its 52 rooms and countless historic artifacts belonging to the Morton Family. The park also includes an arboretum, Italian terraced garden, log cabin, carriage house, walking trails, more than 200 varieties of lilacs, and a charming whispering bench. The mansion is open for tours and special events under the direction of the Arbor Day Foundation

The Apple House Market has a full wine bar, serving Arbor Day Farm wine by the glass and as tastings. A glass of wine is $9. Tastings are $10 for four tastes. Grab your favorite, then sit and relax!!

The Lied Lodge also has a spa offering many different treatments!! 

Enjoy peaceful walks and scenic views, connecting you to nature and history. One of the more beloved paths is Doug’s Trail — a walk that takes you into the peaceful sanctuary of the woods. It stretches from the back of Lied Lodge to the Apple House Market and Tree Adventure. The newest addition is the Conservation Trail, a 2.4 mile loop through the backwoods of Arbor Day Farm and past Lied Lodge. Open to pedestrians, runners, and bicycles, the pathway takes guests through the Harris Prairie, alongside Arbor Day Farms heirloom apple orchard, and past the Historic Barns before connecting to Doug’s Trail.

Trails 

The Lodge is only a 45 min drive from Omaha’s Zoo which offers 160 acres of plants, animals and unique habitats from around the world! It is one of our favorite places in Omaha!
