Brian & Christina first met in 1993 while driving around "The Loop" in Sioux Falls. After two dates, Christina ghosted Brian (way before ghosting was a word in the dating world!).

Through the remaining years of high school and early college, Brian and Christina sporadically kept in touch. Each attended the other's high school graduations, there was a letter written, a phone call and Brian even made a stop at Christina's family business to see how she was doing.

That last stop Brian made was in 1999, and it would be the last time either would attempt to reach out to the other for almost twenty-five years.

During those nearly twenty-five years apart, our Heavenly Father, gave both Brian and Christina the time and opportunities to learn and grow as people - each step along their individual paths preparing them for when they would meet again.

During this season of growing and learning, unbeknownst to anyone, each time Christina passed the Hurley/Davis exit (Brian's hometown exit) on Interstate 29, she would say a quick prayer for Brian.

In Summer of 2023, Christina needed a commercial real estate appraisal and remembered Brian worked in Comerical Real Estate. She reached out to him via Facebook for a referral.

After a few days of messaging, Brian asked the question: "Did you really reach out just for a referral?" Christina's answer: Yes. (No matter what Brian will tell you she was really just looking for a referral :))

Brian decided as long as Christina continued to respond to messages, he would respond. As life would go, the demands of daily life crept up and within a few weeks there came a time Christina didn't respond.

This could have been another missed connection, except in October 2023, Brian again reached out to Christina and this time after a day of messaging back and forth he asked her for a date. And this time she said yes.

They met for drinks at the Barrell House in Sioux Falls and what started as a let's meet for an hour. turned into a multi-hour, talk until closing date.

That evening Brian explained to Christina his belief that a strong relationship is built on 4 pillars of connection - Spiritual, Intellectual, Emotional, and Physical. Each pillar is important to the whole and if one isn't present, the relationship will not be as strong as it could be.

After that evening, Brian and Christina began their journey of discovering their connections in those four areas and overtime learning not only are they aligned in all four pillars, but learning this is a relationship which God has called them to.

Brian and Christina are forever grateful to our Heavenly Father above for His constant patience, lessons and blessings - without His help, guidance and forgiveness, not only would they not have their love story, but everyone would not have salvation.
