Brandon:
Okay, hear me out for a moment.
I recently landed in Paso from San Diego and was gathering my local bearings by first checking out the gym situation like any normal gym guy. I’m on the stepmill to warm up with my hat super low just minding my own business when all of a sudden there was a swoosh of beautiful white energy happening behind me. Out of the corner of my eye, I spy this woman literally skipping across the gym floor with a big smile on her face. I couldnt take my eyes off of her as everything became slow motion as she radiated with glowing and empowering love.
It was from that moment I became a slight gym stalker - intrigued by her intense white light energy; I felt super connected and intertwined in this beautiful energetic gravitational dance...and thought to myself, SHIT, slow your emotional roll, you havent even talked to her yet. I would see her at my favorite restaurant spot - but always from a distance.
Then the awkward part happened.
I knew from my slight gym stalking she always washed her hands after clients. She had wrapped up a client and I gettiuped my way to position myself for a chat. As she walked out I started to panic as I was literally just standing outside the women’s bathroom. I quickly improvised the best that my chaotic mind could figure out. What do I come up with? Shoulder rotations...freaking shoulder rotations. There was a water fountain right there. But no, I select shoulder rotations. But wait, it gets worse.
She walks out and we lock eyes. Immediately, she cocks her head, narrows her vision and gives me a side smile. This was it… my moment to say something...anything. The words come out as a cacophony of sound with no context and poor grammar “So, you headed to your spot tonight?” I immediately regretted opening my mouth and felt my entire face flush red hot as I continued to awkwardly move along with my shoulder rotations.
Miraculously, she somehow picked up what I was trying to lay down and said “Yeah, Ill be there around 5:30”. Then she just skipped away. I had a chance!!!
Christina’s View:
I was single and perfectly content flying solo. My Friday evenings usually consisted of meeting a few girlfriends for happy hour at Fish Gaucho. They would leave and I would stay to watch the basketball game and grab dinner. On several occasions, I noticed this guy at the bar, working on his computer and eating the biggest burrito possible. He would laugh and talk to people in the kindest way. His energy was electric, his physique was incredible, and his smile lit up the room. There was a mischievous glimmer in his eye and although we never spoke to one another, I was intrigued.
Back at the gym, a few of my friends kept telling me that I needed to meet the new spin instructor that had picked up a few classes while he was in town. I always replied I wasnt interested in meeting anyone. I was training a client one afternoon. She was walking at a 30 percent incline on the treadmill and I was straining my neck to talk to her. I quickly grabbed the tallest plyo box I could find. and ran back to the treadmills and jumped on the box to bring myself to eye level with her. I glanced next to us only to find myself eye to eye with the cute guy from Fish Gaucho who was walking on the stairmill next to us. My heart fluttered a bit and I quickly turned away.
I popped into my managers office and asked if she knew who he was. She laughed and said it was the spin instructor everyone wanted me to meet. Just as I got courage to talk to him- he was gone and i didnt see him for several weeks. I asked my manager if he had moved away and she said he left for his brothers bachelor party but was coming back in a few days. I decided I was going to introduce myself next time I saw him.
A few days later, I was coming out of the ladies room and nearly walked right into Brandon. He was standing in the middle of the walkway doing some odd shoulder movement. He asked if I was going to my spot that night. I had a happy hour date with some friends and replied I would yes see him there! I was nervous and excited.
The Moment:
B: So, I arrived early to The Spot (aka Fish Gaucho). I sat down with her girlfriends and patiently waited for her to arrive. 10 minutes felt like an eternity. When she walked in I remember the outfit she was wearing to this day. It was a pair of tight jeans that showed off her glutes and she had a cool striped top that showed off her fabulous shoulders. What’s hilarious about this is if you asked me what she wore any other day, I would have no idea.
T: I tried on a million outfits and was running late. When I finally arrived, I saw Brandon sitting at the bar and my friends right next to him. Our conversation was so easy and I was smitten.
B: Our dear friend, Tony, shouts out to us from behind the bar...Hey, you two want a tequila shot? And went about making us a divine tequila shot with cinnamon and an orange wedge.
What next?
Shortly thereafter, we said goodbye to our friends and decided to go to the Pony club. We spent the rest of the evening eating gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches with fig jam and onion confit and drinking petit syrah. Our conversation flowed and energies connected. There was something true and organic and we both wanted to lean into that feeling. We walked through the park that night and kissed under the stars. It was magical and the exact place that Brandon proposed.
Love sometimes happens when least expected. Despite the fact Tina was so adamant that she would never marry again, and Brandon was like “Hell yeah, Im on board for that”. Little did we know that genuine love cannot be caged and would eventually grow deep roots.
Now, here we are seven years later with a love that is only burning brighter, stronger and more connected. We are absolutely honored to have you share in our journey❤️
