Like all good stories, ours began at an Olive Garden. In July of 2014, Christine moved across the country to Middletown, New York to begin medical school. The night before classes began, the students organized a dinner at the local Olive Garden. We sat across from each other and chatted away, not knowing what the future held.

From study sessions to sharing our favorite music, our relationship grew. The ultimate test came when we found ourselves in the midst of a pandemic in 2 different states for residency - Anu in Michigan for Emergency Medicine and Christine in New Jersey for Ob/Gyn.

After a few years apart, Anu moved to New Jersey while Christine finished her residency. While Anu will always be a New Yorker at heart, Christine was tired of shoveling snow and long flights home. In one of the best recruitment attempts in Fresno history, Christine managed to recruit the Gopalan clan to relocate to sunny California.

We're so excited to begin this next chapter in our lives surrounded by our family and friends. You have all played a role in shaping who we are and nourishing our relationship. Let's get ready to celebrate!
