The Art Museum provides the community and visitors with stimulating year-round programming through numerous art classes for children and adults, free public lectures and tours.

Aspen Center Environmental Studies - (ACES)

is a non-profit environmental education center located within the Hallam Lake Nature Preserve. ACES is open year-round and provides a variety of nature science programs for people of all ages and interests.

During the summer: daily programs include naturalist-guided walks; birds of prey demonstrations; one and two-hour programs for children; sunset beaver walks, and interpretive campground programs.

♥ The Aspen Music Festival -

Founded in 1949, the Aspen Music Festival and School is an internationally renowned classical music festival that presents world-class music in an intimate, small-town setting. It is also one of the world's premier training grounds for pre-professional musicians. Music Director Robert Spano presides over the eight-week summer Festival that comprises more than 200 events, including orchestral concerts, chamber music, opera, contemporary music, master classes, lectures, and kids' programs.

Concerts take place daily at the Music Tent, The Wheeler Opera House, Harris Concert Hall, and in churches and smaller halls around town. Many events are free, lawn seating outside the tent is always free, and other tickets vary in price.

♥ Downhill bicycle Tours -

Experience the majesty of the Rocky Mountains and the best way to experience the Maroon Bells. The Outfitter will shuttle you to Maroon Bells Scenic area, and then cruise downhill on the paved road back into Aspen. Easy to moderate terrain, minimum Age: 7yrs on bike, 4-7 hook-on or 1-3 yrs. in a burley. Length: 4 hours. Season: May to October.

Electric bikes – rent an e-bike and ride up to the Maroon Bells Scenic area, cruise down the Rio Grande Trail to the Woody Creek Tavern or for a longer ride continue to the town of Basalt and have lunch at the Tipsy Trout.

Flyfishing

Wade fishing is a great option for beginners as well as kids 8 and older. (Minimum age can change depending on river currents and levels) Wading trips can be a half-day (4-5 hours), or a full day (approximately 7 hours) in duration. There is a maximum of 2 people to a guide. Float fishing is one of the best options for experienced anglers. It is more difficult to learn the skills of fly-fishing from a boat; however, this is a great option for those with limited mobility or those not wishing to navigate tricky terrain.

Four-Wheel Drive Adventures

Let us reserve a Jeep Tour to take you to stunningly beautiful mountains. Travel where few people get to go, in their rugged but comfortable off-road vehicles. Enjoy the aromatic aspen and pine forests as you climb to wildflower-carpeted high alpine meadows, where the views seem to go on forever.

Golf

Hiking Tours

Beginner half-day hikes, are offered for either trail; Difficult Lake, or Snowmass Creek and includes easy terrain and magnificent views. For the intermediate hiker, Sunnyside hike will prove more challenging terrain in either a half-day or ¾ day trip. For the more experienced hiker, full-day trips include Buckskin Pass which traverses through the Snowmass Wilderness region, as well as Lost Man Loop and Grizzly Lake, both trekking through the Continental Divide area. Whether you are a novice, intermediate or advanced hiker, your adventure will give you a greater appreciation for this unforgettable place.

♥ Horseback Riding –

Saddle Up! Adventure through the Maroon Bells Wilderness area on horseback or get out on a private authentic horseback ride through beautiful Old Snowmass along Snowmass Creek and views of Mt. Daly. ♥ Hot Air Balloon Rides –

This is perhaps the most exciting way to experience the Rocky Mountains. Flights last approximately an hour and take you over the Rocky Mountains of the Aspen and Snowmass area. When you land, you are greeted with a delicious champagne brunch. Total trip time is 3-4 hours and you must stand while you are in the basket. They do not take ages under 6 years old.

♥ Maroon Bells –

Visit the most photographed mountains in North America. Reservations are required to access the Maroon Bells Scenic Area and related amenities. Choose between private vehicle trailhead parking permits from May 15-October 31 or RFTA shuttle reservations from May 24-October 20, 2024.

♥ Mountain Biking

Mountain biking trails for beginners to experience. The single track is designed for the advanced rider; to experience some of the Valley’s renowned single-track trails. Gain more technical knowledge while surrounded by spectacular mountain views. Trips take place on either the Government Trail or the Rim Trail.

Paragliding –

Aspen Paragliding lets you experience the thrill and freedom of free flight without any prior experience. The United States Hang Gliding Association certifies instructors. ♥ Pine Creek Cookhouse

Locally sourced American cuisine served in a remote log cabin with a cozy vibe & mountain views. Lunch & Dinner, two-course price fixe menu. Closed Mon/Tues. The Smuggler Mine tour is a walking tour that takes guests 1200 feet underground. The Smuggler Mine is where the world's largest Silver Nugget was found. Two-hour walking tours for ages 7 years and older; cost is $40/per person, 4 people minimum. Advance reservations required 970-925-2049.
