Like all great love stories, ours began… at Pizza Hut.

It was the summer of 2012 when we met as coworkers slinging pizzas. One day, Christine was sitting on a bench, reading baseball scores in the newspaper (yes, a physical newspaper—throwback, right?). Matt, intrigued by her sports enthusiasm, walked over, snatched the newspaper right out of her hands, and rolled his eyes when she admitted she was checking scores for both the Orioles AND the Phillies. Naturally, Christine thought he was rude and avoided him whenever possible.

Fate had other plans. One day, we got paired to work together, discovered we had a ton in common, exchanged numbers, and suddenly, we were spending every night on the phone.

Our first date was on August 31, 2012, at Glory Days for wings. From there, we spent our early 20s going to concerts, hanging out with friends, and growing up together. Over the years, our adventures have continued—sporting events, more concerts, family time, camping trips, and beach getaways.

Then, exactly 12 years after our first date, on August 31, 2024, Matt proposed on the beach in Ocean City, Maryland. It was perfect—lowkey, authentic, and everything Christine had ever hoped for. To celebrate, we ordered chicken wings that night, just like we did on our very first date.

Now, after nearly 13 years together, we can’t wait to make it official on November 15, 2025!
