Christine and Ethan first met on August 28th, 2010, at an out-of-state mixer at Binghamton university. At the mixer, Christine and her floor-mates arrived late (shocker!) and as they stood in the threshold of the doorway deciding where to go, Christine immediately caught Ethan’s eye.

Afterwards, Ethan caught up with Christine and her friends, and mentioned that today was his 21st birthday! You can imagine what happened next. that‘s right - a frat party (ID not required).

Over the years at Binghamton, Christine and Ethan struck a close friendship, and eventually a romantic relationship.

After graduation, they decided to take separate paths - Christine to LA, Ethan to NYC. Despite the distance, they would always stay in touch (or at least, Christine did. Ethan might’ve been a little butt-hurt).

While in grad school, Ethan was afforded the opportunity to take up an internship in LA, and for 6 months he and Christine lived together and raised their first two children, Pooka and Bagheera (two black cats that have been at the center of their lives ever since).

Ethan would later travel back to NYC and finish grad school, and Christine followed shortly afterward. They lived in NYC together, until the pandemic upended their (and everyone else's) lives. They would move in with Christine’s parents in Ashland (Ethan would take frequent trips up to his parents home in Sidney, NY) and what could have been an unbearable experience became a blessing, as Christine and Ethan grew closer, while also spending lots of time with each other's families.

Christine and Ethan moved back to Brooklyn in July of 2021 and signed their first lease together in a lovely (and later, free!) apartment in the Prospect Park/Lefferts Gardens neighborhood. While there, they picked up their third child Smokey - a tiny, gray tabby they pulled out from under a Subaru Outback during the Canadian wildfires of 2023.

On April 5, 2024 Ethan and Christine were getting ready for a trip to Washington D.C. when their apartment building began to shake. It would turn out to be an earthquake - but that wasn’t the only news-worthy story that happened that day; because among the cherry blossoms at the shore of the Tidal Basin in the nation's capitol, Ethan proposed to Christine, with their good friend Jesus there to witness and capture the moment.

Ethan and Christine are now settled into their new home in Clifton, NJ and are so excited to begin the next chapter of their lives together, as husband and wife.
