Our love story started in the waves of faith. We met through a Christian surfing community, called Kooks for Christ. Soon we were both deeply passionate about growing in our relationship with God, and that shared faith laid such a strong foundation. But, when we started dating on November 23, 2021, I was in San Diego, and Christopher was in Orange County, which meant we had to figure out how to make this work from a distance. At first, it seemed like a challenge, but as we spent more time together—talking, praying, and encouraging each other—we realized that our connection was only growing stronger, even from miles apart.
The distance between us became a test of our commitment, but in many ways, it strengthened our relationship. We couldn’t be together every day, so we had to be intentional with our time and communication. Each conversation brought us closer, and we began to see that our bond wasn’t just about proximity—it was about something deeper that was growing between us. The distance forced us to focus on the things that truly mattered: our shared values, our spiritual growth, and our commitment to one another.
Looking back on those long-distance days, we realize how much they shaped us. It wasn’t always easy—there were moments of frustration and longing, but it also gave us time to build a solid foundation of trust, communication, and prayer. We learned how to support each other from afar, growing individually and together. Now, three years later, we're amazed at how far we’ve come. What started as a relationship with miles between us has blossomed into something so much deeper than we ever imagined. And as we continue to grow in faith and love, we know that we’re exactly where we’re supposed to be—together, with God at the center of it all.
