How We Met

Picture of How We Met

Our story is a funny little story. It all started on February 15, 2021. It had been snowing all night, and the power had gone out, so I only had my phone and my color books to keep me occupied. I had been scrolling on Instagram for a while, and noticed the profile of a cute guy wearing a cowboy hat under the "people you may know" box under a post. I went to high school with a girl named Debra, and she coincidentally went to this guy's church, so she followed him on Instagram. That's how the algorithm on Instagram knew to send his profile my way. Anyways...I decided to request to follow him, because what harm could come from that? Little did I know he would become my husband someday! After I requested to follow him, he accepted, and followed me back. A day goes by, and he posts on his story a picture of a snowman that his uncle and him had assembled the night before. He captioned it "Frosty says hi." So naturally, I responded with "Tell Frosty I say hello!" The cheesiest possible response for me to send, but I did it anyway. That led to more small talk, which finally ended in him asking for my phone number. We conversed for about a week, finding so much in common with each other, and even figuring out we had family that went to high school together since we both grew up on the south-side of San Antonio. He asked me out on a date, but I told him I wanted him to meet my family first, so he came over to my house and met me, my parents, my grandparents, and my uncle all for the first time, at the SAME time. God bless Christopher, because I would've been shaking in my boots if he'd asked me to do the same. The moment I opened the front door and looked into his eyes I knew he was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with (VERY corny, I know). I made tacos for supper, and we sat on my patio and talked for hours. He asked me to be his girlfriend that night, we both told each other we loved each other as he left that night, and we never looked back! Now, almost three years later, we're about to become man and wife; and neither of us could be any happier with our choices! God has blessed both of us more than we could ever express, and we're so excited to welcome each and every one of you to our wedding in June.
