May I take photos during the ceremony?

Our ceremony will be unplugged. While we love that you want to capture our special moment, we ask that you put your phones away and be present with us. Our photographers got the ceremony footage on lock, and there will be plenty of opportunities to take photos during the reception. Thank you so much for your support with this.

I see there are separate venues for the ceremony and the reception? How will transportation work?

Great question. Transportation to and from The Mayflower and The Cathedral will be provided. We encourage all guests to use the transportation accommodations, for seamless and convenient transitions. See the Day of Details page for more info

Is the 6pm start time strict?

The Cathedral is very strict on start time. The prelude will begin at 5:30 and doors will close at 5:45 with a prompt 6pm start time. The grounds are quite grand so account for an extra 15 minutes to find your way inside & to your seat. You are also welcome to arrive early and soak in its beauty, doors open at 5:30.

Will the venue have parking?

Valet Parking is available at The Mayflower. Self-parking garages are also available in close proximity (charges vary). We recommend parking at the Mayflower and using our shuttle service for the ceremony, unless you plan on arriving to the Cathedral early to tour the inside.

What should I wear? Is it black tie?

Yes! It is black tie/formal. We are so excited to see everyone dressed to impress. Think tuxedo, gown, Fall, elegant, regal. Check out the Mood Board page for inspiration. (Please avoid wearing white or cream) https://www.theknot.com/us/christopher-cobb-and-nicole-roberson-nov-2025/mood-board

Can I bring a date?

We are only able to accommodate those formally invited. If you receive a plus one, their name will be indicated on your invitation and RSVP page.

Are children invited?

We do love your little ones, but this night will be Adult-Only so everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. Thank you for making accommodations ahead of time, as we appreciate that this is not always easy.

I am traveling. Which airport do you recommend?

We HIGHLY recommend flying into DCA. There are also flights into BWI and IAD, but they are approximately an hour to 45 minutes away from the venue. See details on the travel page.

Do you have a hotel block for guests?

Yes, there is a room block with preferred rates for guests from Thursday 11/13/25 - Sunday 11/16/25 at The Mayflower Hotel only. The Mayflower is a Marriott property and details and the link for booking are listed on our travel page. (Preferred rates will be updated by Wednesday 8/6/25!)

Do I have to stay at The Mayflower?

We recognize that many travelers may have different preferences based on cost, loyalty programs, travel party size and length of stay. If guests choose lodging other than The Mayflower, we recommend finding accommodations near the Dupont Circle neighborhood to make travel to the ceremony and reception convenient.

Will the reception be open bar?

Do you even know us? LOL. The reception and cocktail hour will be open bar. We do recommend bringing cash to tip our lovely bartenders. Please drink responsibly.

When do I need to RSVP?

Please RSVP no later than September 15, 2025. If you RSVP yes and plans change, please let us know ASAP so that we may make the necessary adjustments.
