How It All Began

Dating Apps work! It all began when we matched not only on Bumble, but Hinge too. We met over some cocktails and eggplant sugo at what used to be The Point. Chris was drawn to Megan's dislike of crowded stores and like for chicken tenders. Megan was drawn to Chris's love for old buildings. Luna the cat was not drawn to Chris period.

Our journey

As weeks turned into months, we shared experiences and firsts together. From our first concert (Paul McCartney) to our first vacation in Glouster. At one point, Megan sprained her ankle in The Pine Bush and couldn't get out. She called Chris, and he was her Superman and carried her out. She knew at that point, he was not only her emergency contact, but he was the one. Luna was still unsure.

As time passed, our lives came together. From moving in together, to a trip to Europe, graduating grad school, to the everyday moments that became our favorites. We built a relationship rooted in love, humor, and partnership. We’ve grown together, supported each other, and created a life that feels like home. And as for Luna, Chris quickly became her favorite person after we moved in together.

The Proposal

The proposal happened on February 1, 2025 — Megan’s sister’s birthday (sorry Courtney, it’s still your month!) — in the exact spot where Chris once rescued her after she sprained her ankle. That morning was snowy but peaceful. Chris insisted they had to go for a walk, while Megan insisted they had to clean the apartment. She made him wear a hat because his hair was still wet and he’d just gotten over a cold, and she couldn’t understand why on earth he chose jeans for a snowy walk.

Before she knew it, Megan was looking down at Chris on one knee, blurting out, “ARE YOU SERIOUS?!” She had no idea he’d even gone ring shopping — the entire moment was a complete surprise. It was the most “Chris and Megan” proposal imaginable: just the two of them, in the place where Chris unofficially became Megan’s emergency contact.

Building Our Future

Today, we’re excited to take the next step as we plan our wedding and continue building the life we’ve dreamed of. We’re saving for our first home and can’t wait to create a space that reflects our love, our story, and all the memories still to come.
