The closest airport is in Vancouver, B.C., Canada, which is about a 2 hour drive from Whistler. If you arrive during rush hour, there will likely be traffic leaving the city especially across the bridges. We suggest you rent a car&nbsp;at the Vancouver Airport.&nbsp;There are numerous car rental companies located at&nbsp;YVR. &nbsp;There are also buses and shuttles that can take you to and from Whistler (see Ground Transportation below).&nbsp;

Vancouver International Airport

We are working with a property management company and privately-owned rental units are available for guests to book at the below 3 locations; Cascade Lodge, Whistler Peak Lodge &&nbsp;Coast Blackcomb Suites. We have secured a group rate for each property and rooms are based on availability.&nbsp;Bookings require a minimum of 2 nights stay.&nbsp;Please be aware that guests are required to pay a non-refundable 1st night stay deposit. Full payment is due 7 days prior to arrival. While linens and towels are provided in the suites, there is no housekeeping service for stays that are less than 5 nights.

Whistler Peak Lodge

We are providing a shuttle the day of the wedding to transport all&nbsp;guests from Cascade Lodge in the Village&nbsp;to the venue and back. Buses&nbsp;will arrive at Cascade Lodge at 2:45pm and will depart promptly at 3:00pm for the ceremony. Return transportation will be leaving the venue at midnight. If you prefer a different time or miss the shuttle&nbsp;Whistler Taxi is always available 604-932-3333.

Travel

Located outside of Whistler in Squamish. This hike is our favourite with breath taking views at the top! Hike is free and around 3hrs in length depending on how many peaks you visit. There are three in total. Visit website for directions and full details. 

There is also the Sea to Sky Gondola if you want to see the views but not hike.

Squamish Chief Hike

If you want to skip the hike but still see the views&nbsp;take&nbsp;a 10 minute gondola ride&nbsp;to 885m&nbsp;above sea level and enjoy a meal and beer with views looking over and above the spectacular Chief and Howe Sound. Tickets and information available on the Sea to Sky website.

Watch the mountain bikers come down the hill, shop, grab a bite to eat, or some beers to drink.

Whistler Village

The Scandinavia Spa is a must if you want to relax. Unwind at this outdoor spa in the mountains with hot tubs, cold dips, sauna and steam rooms. There are places to nap, relax, a fire pit, hammock area and hot waterfalls.

Decades ago a train derailed south of Whistler near what is now Function Junction.&nbsp; Seven train cars were left scattered next to the <a title="Cheakamus River Hiking Trails in Whistler" class="caption" href="http://whistlerhiatus.com/whistlerhikes/cheakamus-river-hiking.html" target="_self">Cheakamus River</a>.&nbsp; The locals have transformed this mess into a wonderful work of art, a suspension bridge, an extraordinary bike park, and a great place to hike.&nbsp;

Train Wreck

Located in Function Junction. A spot the locals like to visit frequently.Stop by this brewery after the Train Hike to sample a wide range of&nbsp;locally crafted beer.

Coast Mountain Brewing

Also located in Function Junction, just a short walk away from Coast Mountain Brewery. Grab a nice cold beer and a bite to eat!

Whistler Brewing Company

Ride the record-breaking peak-to-peak gondola connecting Whistler and Blackcomb mountain. You will see stunning 360-degree views of Whistler Village, mountain peaks, lakes, glaciers and forests.

Peak 2 Peak Gondola

Head to Rainbow park on Alta Lake, Lost Lake Park on Lost Lake, Lakeside Park or Alpha Lake (a 5-10 minute walk from Creekside). Rainbow park has a nice sandy beach but can get quite busy in the summer, great for people watching. Lakeside park is an easy 20-30 minute walk from Creekside and much less busy then the parks closer to the village. Take the valley trail north to get there. Alpha Lake is also quieter.

Walking the trail that loops around Lost Lake is a scenic and easy one-great views of the ski hill and surrounding mountains.

Local Lakes

If you decide to spend some time in Vancouver we highly suggest any of the below!

Stanley Park - Large forested park along the shores of downtown Vancouver. Rent tandem bikes and ride along the 10km long seawall.&nbsp; 

Granville Island Market - Granville Island is a public market full of local goods, food, music,&nbsp;restaurants & the Granville Brewery!



Kitsilano Beach - Vancouver has lots of great beaches around the city (Jerico Beach is also great).&nbsp; 



Grouse Mountain - Grouse Mountain is in North Vancouver with a gondola that goes to the top for stunning views over Vancouver, lots of walking trails at the top, a restaurant and there is even a Bear Park. For the brave, you can skip the gondola ride and hike to the top along the famous "Grouse Grind" trail.



Capilano Suspension Bridge - You can combine this with Grouse Mountain as it is near by. Very cool walk bridge over a river through the forest. 



Shopping - Robson Street downtown will have international brands and bigger stores. Check out Gastown or 4th Avenue for boutiques.
