Chris and Mikki started dating in college, but this was not the first time they had met. Mikki and Chris grew up only 15 minutes apart. Chris attended Pender Public schools while Mikki attended Bancroft-Rosalie High School. They first met when Chris was in 8th grade and Mikki was in 7th grade at a career fair hosted by Pender Public Schools. Mikki immediately had a crush on Chris but she never sought it out.

FAST FORWARD to Mikki's freshman year of college and Chris' sophomore year of college, Mikki was at groomsman Nolan Ostrand's house and had asked about people who were attending college that she would know. Nolan listed off a few people and Chris' name came up. Mikki told Nolan to invite him to the get together that he was having that night and he did. The next day Mikki asked Maid of honor Michaela for Chris’ number and she gave it to her. (She also put in a good word for Chris which really sealed the deal for Mikki. ) That was the day Mikki and Chris started talking and eventually started dating.

Chris and Mikki have three pets that they care very much about. Their first pet together is an all white cate named Theo. Mikki randomly brought him home one day after visiting her parents farm. Then came Sylvie, an all black long haired cat. Which they had to get because Theo loved Chris more than Mikki and she needed her own cat. Chris and Mikki have completed their pet family by adding a black lab named Walker.
