Kris and I met in July of 2012. I came out to Carmel, IN to visit my best friend, Kaite, who had just moved to the area with her fiancé, Bryce. Kris, who was a high school buddy of Bryce's, also came to Carmel that weekend to celebrate his birthday. Little did we know that our friends had a hunch that if they ever got us in the same place at the same time, we'd hit it off. And sure enough, they were right!

There was one slight problem though: I had just moved to Columbus, OH to start my first teaching job, and Kris was very much rooted in Indianapolis due to his work and family. Therefore, we agreed to give long distance a try.

Two years, thousands of miles, and more hours in the car than either of us care to count later, I agreed to move to Indianapolis after accepting a new job.

On the morning (literally, it was still dark outside) of January 18, 2015, Kris popped the question. He put the ring on our puppy, Cyrus's, collar for me to find, and of course, I was thrilled to say yes!
