Our story begins in the vibrant city of Los Angeles in 2018. Chrystal, originally from Massachusetts, and Shanay, hailing from Florida, both moved across the country chasing their dreams. Chrystal had just graduated from veterinary school and was in an internship program, while Shanay also just graduated from college and was immersed in a manufacturing rotational program. Fate brought us together at a concert one Autumn evening, where we instantly connected over our love for music and adventure.

After dating for a year in LA, life took us on separate paths temporarily. Chrystal headed to Seattle for her residency, while Shanay continued his career development in West Virginia. Despite the distance, we nurtured our relationship with late-night video calls, visits, and endless support for each other's ambitions.

In the summer of 2020, Shanay made the leap to join Chrystal in Seattle, and together with the cats (Bert, Kiwi, and Goober), we officially became a family. Seattle became our home, where we continued to nurture our love for music and festivals, explored the outdoors, made lifelong friends, and supported each other through the ups and downs of residency and career growth.

Chrystal completed her rigorous residency in veterinary neurology/neurosurgery in 2023, a monumental achievement that we celebrated in Europe. As we soaked in the sun in the picturesque waters of Positano, Italy, Shanay surprised Chrystal with a heartfelt proposal. With joy and excitement, she said yes, marking the beginning of our next chapter together.

Now, we've come full circle and returned to the city where our love story began—Los Angeles. As we plan our wedding surrounded by the energy and memories of our early days, we're grateful for the journey that has brought us here.
