Chyna and Sam met one night in a bar in Perth, Australia while they were both traveling. After Sam interrupted another guy chatting to Chyna by swooping in-between them with the charming line, "Do you need rescuing?".....his long blonde locks and English accent had her hooked.

After spending 5 weeks together in Perth, Sam flew off to New Zealand on a 2 year working holiday visa and Chyna flew to Europe with her best friend Danielle to continue their travels. Cliff hanger....they sincerely thought they would never see each other again.

The universe had their backs though and with Sam not finding work and Chyna going more broke than any backpacker ever, they both ended up in England at the same time and met up in Cambridge for a quick visit one day. (Sam called in sick for work - sorry Martin.)

Chyna left the UK for another 4 weeks of travel before coming back to England where they found a way to spend 1 week together in London before she headed home. A month after, Sam joined her in Canada and they lived together at her parents' house in Haliburton for 6 weeks. In September 2010, they spent another 2 weeks in Sam's hometown where Chyna met his friends and family.

(We should mention now that through ALL of the above, they continued to hand write and snail mail tons of letters back and forth. Yes, mail. Yes, handwritten.)

In February 2011, Sam moved to Canada and they lived above the dance studio Chyna worked at in an apartment and awaited approval for Sam's Canadian Working Holiday Visa, which came in April.

By the next Christmas, which they spent in England, they talked about building a life together in Canada by purchasing their first home and trying for a baby. The baby part came faster than expected, (pregnant within 2 weeks) and so the house hunt was fully underway!

(Around February they also started the sponsorship process to receive Sam's permanent residency so that he could stick around...)

In March 2012, they purchased their first home and fully renovated it, moving in in April.

In June 2012, Chyna took over Haliburton Dance Academy and began working for herself as the Director/Owner.

In September 2012, Oliver Quinn Williams was born.

In January 2013, they received a confirmation letter that Sam was officially a Permanent Resident of Canada.

In February 2015, Sam opened his own business and began working for himself as Founder of Haliburton Landscaping & Septics.

In May 2016, Jude Manson Williams was born.

In January 2019, while on a family vacation together, Sam popped the question (somehow, after all these years, managing to still shock Chyna when he got down on one knee) on the balcony overlooking the ocean one evening.

In June 2019, they sold their tiny, yellow house and upgraded to more space; purchasing their second home together.

And in May 2020 - they were supposed to get married, but then a global pandemic broke out causing a state of emergency worldwide and they postponed their wedding when life flipped upside down in a matter of hours.

In May 2021, they were meant to get married again, however the world was still fairly upside down and things were again postponed.

In April 2021, they got a BIG surprise and baby #3 was on the way - due in December!

BUT in May 2022 - they'll celebrate this amazing life they've built together, surrounded by the most important people in it. And it is going to be great. Baby #3 in tow.
