Matt moved to Charlotte in April of 2019 and Cid moved to Charlotte in August of 2020 for grad school. Just two weeks into a new city (and in the middle of a pandemic) Matt and Cid both swiped right on Bumble!


After changing their minds about four or five times about where to go for a first date, the two homebodies finally agreed to dinner and a movie at Matts place. From that point on, the two were inseparable, bonding over their love of reading, star-watching apps, and food.


Cid and Matt spent their time in Charlotte going to sports games, apple picking, traveling, and falling in love.


Two and half years later, they made the move to Richmond, Va where they felt even more at home together.


Just one month into their time in a new place, Matt got tickets for a tasting tour and took Cid around their new city enjoying sights, people, and of course, food. After a perfect day of exploring, Matt had one final stop for them; a walk around their local Hollywood cemetery. As they stood at one of the higher points, overlooking the James River, Cid asked, “Do you want to keep going?” to which Matt replied, “Do you?” as he pulled out a ring.
