Our Wedding

Our journey began on a cold November day in 2020 when I received a message from Cierra on Facebook. We talked for a while and soon made plans for our first lunch date at Porter Haus—a local restaurant that quickly became one of our favorite spots for a bite to eat or a drink. From that first date, our connection grew as we made plans to spend more time together, whether it was hunting, traveling across the state, or simply enjoying each other’s company. Early on, it was clear that we were building something special. We moved to southern Michigan, exploring parts of the state we had never seen and forming incredible friendships along the way. But after some time, we found ourselves missing home—the familiar up-north atmosphere, the beauty of nature, and being close to family. That longing led us back, where we found the perfect home nestled in an outdoor wonderland. Surrounded by loved ones and the place we always knew was home, we planted our roots. With our home and life together feeling complete, we knew it was time to take the next step. On a beautiful September day in 2023, with a few close friends by our side, we ventured to the iconic Boyne Mountain SkyBridge. It was there, high above the breathtaking landscape, that we took the next step in our journey together—I asked, and Cierra said yes. —Nick

Lauren is Cierra’s best friend, and their friendship began when Cierra and Nick moved downstate together. Fun fact—Lauren is also the wife of Adam, the best man! She’s the proud mama of two very special members of the wedding party: the flower girl, Vienna, and the ring bearer, Maximus. And if you’re a fan of lemon drops, you’re in for a treat—Lauren makes the best ones around. But be warned: they’re dangerously good, and you’ll be out of lemons before you know it!

Shyanna and Cierra first met at college orientation—and let’s just say, there are plenty of stories that are better left untold! They spent most of their college years side by side, even landing their first job together. Truly inseparable. If you ever have an expired coupon or you’re hunting for a deal, Shyanna is your girl—she has a magical way of turning those discounts back to life. Seriously, we somehow managed to get 50% off Biggby Coffee for over a year!

Cassie is one of Cierra’s close friends and is always up for a girls’ night out on the town. Whether it’s a quick trip to the local shops or just sharing a good appetizer, she’s all in for the fun. When she’s not out with the girls, Cassie loves gardening and cherishing time with her sweet baby girl, Ellie.

Allison and Cierra have been great friends for quite some time now! Allison is your go-to girl for recommendations—chances are, if you need a suggestion, she’s already tried it. But fair warning: if you catch her with a drink in hand, keep her away from your Amazon account! You never know what surprise package might show up at your door… Just ask Shyanna—it happened to her!

Alex and the bride met downstate while Cierra was attending college and Alex was her hairstylist, and they quickly became close friends. If you need your hair done, she’s the one to call! Just don’t hand her a wine glass—she prefers sipping straight from the bottle!

With his experience running plays on the football field, he’s got the speed and focus to get the job done—so don’t even think about challenging him. We trust him completely with these rings and couldn’t be prouder to have such an incredible young man by our side.

If you ever need a Starbucks recipe or a caffeine fix, Abbie’s your go-to. She’s got all the tips to keep your energy up—perfect for powering through the wedding night festivities!

Nearest Airports and Transportation Options For those flying in, the nearest major airport is Cherry Capital Airport (TVC) in Traverse City, approximately 60 miles from Lake City. Cherry Capital Airport offers several car rental services, including Hertz, Avis, and Enterprise, providing convenient options for the drive to Lake City. Alternatively, Grand Rapids' Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR) is about 100 miles away, offering a broader range of domestic flights and car rental services. Both airports provide a variety of transportation options to make your journey to Lake City hassle-free.

Double Queen Rooms: These rooms are being held exclusively for our guests until 30 days before the wedding. We’ve reserved rooms for both Friday, September 19th, and Saturday, September 20th. When booking, please mention that the reservation is for the Cierra Hill Wedding to receive the group rate.
