Cierra and Ryan met while attending college in Flagstaff. Ryan and Cierra were both sophomores at the time. There isn’t much to do in the small mountain town. Ryan enjoyed driving through the forest in his lifted silver Dodge truck. He spent his time hosting bonfires surrounded by cold beers, good music and great friends. Cierra, on the other hand, was a bit too consumed in school. She had four jobs and when she wasn’t working she’d be at home sleeping.
Through a mutual friend, Cierra was invited to one of Ryan’s bonfires on November 14, 2015. Ryan’s Dodge was blaring music and friends all gathered around the fire to stay warm from the cold night. Cierra was out of her comfort zone and Ryan in his element.
Neither had any interest in each other.
For him, her big hair, leather jacket and boots were intimidating. For her, he was just a bit too country. Little did they know they would spend the next days, weeks and months inseparable. The night turned into morning and everyone’s about ready to go home.
Cierra leaves with her friend and shortly after they roll the car landing passenger side up. Thankfully, they’re both okay but stuck inside the Chevy Equinox. Her friend has no signal so Cierra needs to call Ryan from her phone. Not even 3 minutes pass before his headlights come racing down the secluded dirt road. Ryan and his friends get them out safely and this night turns into a mission of getting the car towed.
No one will come out because the car wasn’t on a surface street. Ryan and his friends flip the car back on all fours and strap it to one of their vehicles to tow it to pavement. Ryan volunteers to steer the Equinox but then someone needs to drive his truck. Cierra’s eyes light up, she’s now driving this huge truck and making the best of the night, takes the black cowboy hat that was sitting on the dash and starts acting like a goof. Her friends car gets towed, it’s 5 a.m. and they all decide to go to IHOP.
All 8 of them are enjoying their chicken tenders and french fries when Ryan announces to the table with the biggest grin...“Well I have Cierra’s number now.”
She blushes, they smile at each other, and the rest is history.
