Life has a funny way of bringing people together. Kyle and I both attended Esperanza High School in Anaheim but didn't know each other. He was on the soccer team and in the engineering program a year ahead of me, while I played softball and was in the medical sciences academy. Little did we know that we were each other's last dates on a dating app before we both were going to leave online dating for other people to find their future significant others.
We set up a double date (Kyle didn't know I invited my friend and her now boyfriend) to a local brewery, and we hit it off instantly. We spent our second date a day later at his friend's Halloween party, and then after a month on 10/26/2021, he asked me to be his girlfriend.
Kyle tried to surprise me by having our friends Kailey and Alec come down for the weekend. A couple month prior to our engagement, Kyle and I surprised them the night they got engaged in SLO. Kyle told me to dress up for dinner with our friends that was scheduled for Friday night in Laguna beach. Everyone told me the wrong restaurant to try and throw me off.
Kyle and I drove down to Laguna early to check out the downtown and later on explore some of the beaches that were on our to-do list. After grabbing taffy and exploring some of the cute boutiques, we made our way to Table Rock beach and parked off the side of the road and went down the numerous steps to the beach. Kyle had me set my purse and things down shortly after we got on the sand and before I knew it he dropped down onto his knee and asked me to marry him. After our photoshoot we headed to dinner with a beautiful view of the ocean where we met up with Kailey and Alec.
