Parker and Claire knew each other because he and Claire's younger brother, Jarret, were childhood friends. Claire returned to OU in the Fall of 2017 to study Economics and that next Summer Parker joined the Armstrongs in Park City. Claire's mom, Shelly, told her after that trip that she thought her and Parker would make a cute couple. Naturally, Claire thought this was an odd idea but that didn't stop Shelly from telling Parker that he should reach out to Claire when they were back on campus to hang out. The next semester Parker not only switched into some of Claire's classes, but ended up changing his major to Economics. However, it wasn't until the next semester that Parker finally asked Claire out on a date. January 2018 classes got canceled for a snow storm and Parker found this to be the perfect excuse to ask Claire to go grab some food. They went to the Library which is a local spot in Norman and Claire didn't realize they were on a date until they got the check. The next few months they slowly started to let their families know that they were dating. Jarret gave Claire his blessing to date Parker and told them that if his sister was going to be dating one of his friends, he was glad it was Parker. Claire and Parker graduated together (with Econ degrees) the Summer of 2019. Parker got his job at Chubb in Tulsa and Claire got a job in Midland, Texas. Claire was in Midland for a year and Parker was thrilled to spend his free weekends traveling to Midland to visit her. Claire moved back to Tulsa for a short time and then in October 2021, she moved to New Orleans and Parker joined her almost a year later on August 19th, 2022 and he proposed to Claire the next day. "We are so excited for March 18th and cannot wait to celebrate with our friends and family in the Biggs Easy. We are so grateful for all of the love and support that we have received from so many amazing people throughout our journey. We are so excited to have you join us in our new city! March is a busy month in New Orleans so we encourage you to book sooner rather than later. We have arranged room blocks at the hotels listed below. Discounted room rates are limited, so availability is on a first come first serve basis. Update 1/11/2023: The Ritz and the Courtyard by Marriott hotel blocks are full. Additional rooms have been added at the Saint Hotel. The link can be found below. There are tons of great places to stay in NOLA so please feel free to explore other hotel options as well. Transportation will be provided to and from the ceremony from the Ritz hotel which is located in the French Quarter.
