Claire and Alex met through Henderson State University's swim team. Although the pair had been on competing swim teams throughout high school, it took them until freshman year of college to develop a friendship and relationship. Claire and Alex both agree that meeting each other was the best part of joining the team!
The first few months of Claire and Alex's relationship were filled with swim meets, spending time together, and visiting families for the holidays. Things took a turn in 2020 with the passing of Claire's dad, and the beginning of the pandemic. Through these bouts of hardship, Claire realized that she had found somebody special. Alex was such a constant supporter through all the changes 2020 brought. Alex knew from these experiences that there was no one else he'd rather support and love as much as Claire.
Four Years Together

1st Anniversary:
In Claire and Alex's first year together, they learned how to prioritize each other and create memories through some of the hardest points in their lives. Learning how they each handled difficulty showed them that they had found someone fit for the long-haul of life. They spent lots of time with our families and outside.
October 06, 2021
2nd Anniversary:
In their second year together, Claire and Alex continued to spend time outdoors -- camping and cliff jumping at Greers Ferry Lake were among some of their favorite activities. They lived only one floor apart at Henderson in their new apartments. Claire eventually started an internship in Bryant, AR while Alex continued studying biology at Henderson. After Claire graduated, she accepted a job teaching at the same school she interned at. Living an hour apart wasn't ideal, but they made sure to spend as much time together as possible.

3rd Anniversary:
In their third year together, Claire and Alex traveled to several places: Nashville, TN; a cruise through the Gulf of Mexico; Orange Beach, AL; and a weekend at Petit Jean State Park. Before their third year together was over, Alex graduated and started a research position at UAMS.

4th Anniversary:
Claire and Alex's first anniversary spent as an engaged couple! Alex has been working hard in his pursuit of going to dental school. They are spending the year planning their wedding and preparing to move to a new home in Memphis, TN where Alex will attend dental school!
