Our Story

In the halls of Shelby County High School, two teenagers who would one day become everything to each other first crossed paths. Brought together by mutual friends, we knew each other for years before finally falling in love. In 2015 we were more than mere acquaintances, but not quite close friends. Simple interactions of passing conversations and the occasional glance were the threads that would eventually stitch together our lives.

After high school our lives took separate paths. We both grew up and started discovering who we were.

In October of 2019, Dallas started working at the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office. Coincidentally, I (Claire) had taken a summer job working for Jody (Dallas’ mom) just a few months earlier. With this one simple tie, we found ourselves thinking about each other. Perhaps not in a romantic sense, but in the quiet curiosity that comes with knowing someone from afar. Without realizing it, we unintentionally became a part of each other’s life once again.

Fate has a way of bringing people together, and this moment came in 2022 when a job opened up at the sheriff’s office. There was no way of knowing that taking the job would ultimately bring us together again.

At first we were nothing but coworkers, together in the same place. Yet beneath it all our shared history lingered, and there was an undeniable comfort in being around each other - a sense of familiarity that felt both natural and reassuring.

Our friendship grew quickly and we were close friends before we knew it. It was the little things. The way we always seemed to know when the other needed a source of strength. How on the toughest days, we’d make each other laugh and offer a presence that made hard times easier. The way we gave each other a look of understanding when the other was going through a hard time. And no matter what, we always had the other’s back - even if they were wrong.

In May of 2024, we confessed the undeniable bond we shared, and then on Christmas Eve we were engaged. Our relationship did not rush, but instead was nurtured by time, waiting for God to bring us together on His timing. We are grateful for your love and support as we weave together our past and our future, officially tying the knot.
