Nathan and Claire have a story unlike many others. They met in middle school and shared English and band class together. Claire and Nathan both knew they had a crush on the other, and in the summer of 2013 just before 8th grade, Nathan officially asked Claire to be his girlfriend!

Nathan and Claire continued on to Tualatin High School together. Claire continued with dance, and Nathan was a 3 sport athlete! Claire made sure to go to every one of Nathan's games that she could to cheer him on, and Nathan always came with flowers to Claire's performances. Nathan and Claire spent high school growing as best friends and went to all 6 high school dances together!

They then took on the next big chapter together at Oregon State University! Nathan graduated in 2021 with a Bachelors degree in Economics, while Claire then graduated in 2022 with a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology. Nathan and Claire spent that last year of college long distance, making them feel more connected than ever after graduation!

Nathan and Claire both weren't quite done going to school together, so they each decided to pursue a further degree at George Fox University. Nathan earned his Masters in Teaching in 2023, and Claire is finishing up her Doctor of Physical Therapy this coming February! They have both always been each others biggest supporters, and could not have made it through all these years of school without each other.

As I'm sure you can imagine, after 10 years together Claire had been patiently waiting for this day for a long time. Nathan planned a special date for Claire that started out with a rainy walk through their favorite hometown park that they grew up going to. As they rounded the corner to an all too familiar bench, Nathan popped the question and officially asked Claire to marry him! This spot was so special for them because this is where Nathan had asked Claire to be his girlfriend all those years ago.
