Claire and Ed's love story originates with two very well-timed Ubers called after a party in December 2019. After everyone had cleared out of Claire's apartment, she along with her brother Tim and his friends decided to continue the party elsewhere. Ed had left earlier but somehow ended up back at Claire's and arrived as everyone was on their way out the door. He was sad at finding the party over so out of the kindness of her heart, Claire invited him to join them. 30 minutes later, they were sharing their first kiss on a beautiful, romantic Beacon Hill rooftop overlooking the State House.
Just three months later, Covid-19 shut down the world, simultaneously pressing the gas pedal on Claire and Ed's relationship. They spent all their time together during lockdown, culminating in Claire's six-week trip to Ed's 400-square foot apartment in Philadelphia during his first year of law school. They both privately told friends that this would be a deal breaker: after the first week, they'd either be broken up or on the road to marriage, and here we are!
Claire officially joined Ed in Philly in May 2021. Opting for a long engagement, Ed surprised Claire with a beautiful proposal in Rittenhouse Square on November 6, 2021. Claire ended up slightly ruining the surprise for herself: Ed was subtly trying to get her out the door in time since he had hired a photographer, and finally getting frustrated with Ed trying to tell her what to do, she started yelling at him to just go ahead, to which he responded by nervously laughing, "no, you really want to go with me!" Claire got the hint but still had no idea what was in store for her, and Ed's thoughtfulness and loving, detailed planning blew her out of the water. They both cried.
Claire and Ed were legally married on March 3, 2023 in a small civil ceremony officiated by Ed's mentor, Judge L. Felipe Restrepo. They can't wait to celebrate with friends and family next!
