LANDON'S VERSION

Here’s the deal…if you know me you know I love my sweets. It all started with the first date at Eskamoe’s Ice Cream in Ruston. That was the first check mark, that she was okay with dessert for a first date! I knew I would like her a lot, even after the hour we spent munching on ice cream, just a gut feeling really. So, I strategically planned to ask her on a second date before the first one was over, so she would have a hard time telling me ‘no’ to my face. The few dates we had after were smooth sailing. Another few dates later, Claire was getting ready to go out of town in a couple days, and we were puzzling in my living room when out of no where she said, “I don’t want to go, I’m gonna miss you”. I still remember her saying that like it was yesterday. It made me feel like a million bucks. That was the second check mark. A few weeks later, I then figured out her and her family has some random connection with the numbers 9 and 11, it is still a mystery to this day. Anyways, it just so happens that I had just had a largemouth bass mounted a few months prior that, you guessed it, weighed 9 pounds and 11 ounces. Coincidence? I think NOT. And that folks, was the third check mark and that’s all she wrote.

It’s been such a joy to know and to love Claire and it only grows every day. The adventures and memories we have had and will have make me more happy and joyful than anything in this world, yes more happy than a bass and a deer. May 3, 2025 is going to go down in history as the best day ever!

CLAIRE'S VERSION

The story starts in of one of my college best friend's living rooms. I wanted to go on a date before my birthday and complained about it quite often. My friends convinced me to download Bumble (which I always swore I would NEVER do). After about a week of having the app a red head crossed my screen and we matched. The way Bumble works, the girl has to message first and I think I ended up asking him what his go-to comfort food was. Landon responded to me that he loved breakfast food and the rest is history.

But really our first date was set up within 24 hours of us matching on the app. It is also important to note this was my first date EVER. We went to Eskamoe's and I talked his ear off. I was so nervous I didn't even eat all of my ice cream, which is highly unusual if you know me. He even asked me on a second date before he dropped me off at home. The next weeks were filled with so much fun and a lot of great conversation. Landon is the best thing to ever happen to me and I can't believe all I had to do was download a dating app to find him! There were so many signs that Landon was the one for me and if you ever want to know you can ask about some of them. Truly couldn't have hand picked a better man to spend my life with!
