The Roswell History Museum documents the beginning of the area's history in a permanent exhibit entitled, "Roswell: The Early Years." The current rotating exhibit, "Troublesome Times," explores the impact of the Civil War in Roswell. The museum is located on the 2nd floor of the Roswell Cultural Arts Center at 950 Forrest Street, Roswell, Georgia. It is free and open to the public Wednesday to Saturday from 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM.

Roswell is home to the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area that offers miles of trails throughout the Vickery Creek unit and Allenbrook detail. For those interested in hiking the CRNRA trails, access is past the covered pedestrian bridge within Old Mill Park.

Barrington Hall was the home of Barrington King, son of Roswell King, the founder of Roswell. You can tour this home that is recognized as one of the finest examples of Greek Revival architecture in the country. It is also listed as one of Atlanta's 50 Most Beautiful Homes, Barrington Hall has the only antebellum garden in metro Atlanta that is open to the public. Admission is free, with the grounds and gardens open from sunrise to sunset and the house itself open Monday-Saturday 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM and Sunday 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM.

Bulloch Hall

Bulloch Hall is considered one of the most significant homes in Georgia. Here, Mittie Bulloch grew up, met a young man from the prominent Roosevelt family of New York, and captured his heart. In this home, the couple wed at Christmas time in 1853. This was the union that produced U.S. President, Teddy Roosevelt. On the reconstructed service grounds are slave cabins and a carriage house. One of the cabins showcases living quarters and exhibits that provide opportunities to explore and recognize the role of African Americans in the history of Roswell. This exhibit is dedicated to their legacy. Admission is free, with the grounds and gardens open from sunrise to sunset and the cabin museum is open Wednesday - Saturday, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM and Sunday 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM.
