Claire and Noah first met sophomore year in Bill Welsh’s Business Foundations class. It was love at first sight for Claire, and for Noah, well, not so much.
Through Cru, the campus ministry they were both involved in throughout college, the two quickly became close friends. They and their friends had consistent game nights and always met up in the Union food court to talk in between classes.
Claire and Noah went on their first mission trip to Thailand together the summer after sophomore year, and both felt a pull to go back the next summer.
While Claire’s feelings had been there from the beginning, Noah’s didn’t start until halfway through junior year.
In January of 2023, they went to a missions conference in New Orleans where they explored the city together and made a lot of fun memories like exploring tiny bookshops, walking down Bourbon Street, and eating beignets at Cafe Dumont.
In the months leading up to the trip, their friendship (and feelings for each other) just kept growing. Between countless meetings to talk about the trip and the continued movie nights with their friend group, they didn’t spend much time apart.
On their trip to Thailand, it was quite obvious that something was going on between them, but being leaders, nothing could happen until they got back to the States and were officially done leading.
A little before midnight on July 27th, 2023, the second they landed back in the United States, is when their first date began. Claire and Noah stayed up all night and all day talking, watching movies, and waiting for their flight home where Noah had a wedding to be at two days later.
Their next date was that same wedding (shoutout Derek and Emmy Mitchell!!). This was the fun part because it was when everyone found out that they were officially together.
Since then, they’ve had date night every Monday, traveled to Tulsa, Memphis, and the lake countless times, and made so many beautiful memories.
On May 13th, the Monday after they both graduated, Noah proposed to Claire. It was the happiest moment full of love, and God’s provision, and celebrated with their closest friends and family.
Next up is December 6th, and they are SO excited to celebrate with you!
