Our Wedding

At the beginning of January 2025, Claire and Joseph met at Redemption Church's young adult group, when Joseph was placed into Claire's bible study. Throughout the study, both Claire and Joseph admired what each other had to say about their faith and love for the Lord, which they would later tell each other. On the last day of the 6-week study, Joseph recommended the movie "The Blind" to the bible study group. Claire took his advice and watched the movie, and messaged Joseph on GroupMe to say she enjoyed it. This initial message led to the exchange of phone numbers, and then staying up until 3am messaging for multiple weeks. On March 3rd, Claire messaged her friend saying "I know this is gonna sound crazy, but I'm pretty sure he's my husband". Keep in mind, there had been no first date yet. On March 6th, Joseph took Claire out for the first time to Crust Pizzeria in Whitehouse, where they talked for over 3 hours. The pizza was never really touched. Not wanting the night to end, they ended up at a cigar lounge talking until it closed. When Joseph went to drop Claire off, they talked in the car until 4 in the morning. Two days later, they became "official." It didn't take long for them to know they were meant to be with each other, with assurance on both sides that they were brought together by the Lord. On June 16th, Joseph proposed to Claire along the water in Grand Rapids, Ohio, to which Claire obviously said "yes," and here we are, with a wedding coming up in October! A note from Claire: We are thankful to everyone who has been a part of our love story, but our highest gratitude is towards Jesus, who we know brought us together. I used to cringe at the phrase "when you know, you know," but I get it now...because when the Lord orchestrates things, there is a peace and a joy in knowing and living out His plan, and that's exactly what our story has been- We pray it is a testament to the goodness of Christ!
