Claire and Fabian’s journey of love is a tale of serendipity, resilience, and boundless adventure. It began in September 2017 in Bonn, Germany, when a swipe on Tinder connected Claire, a Californian from sunny San Diego, and Fabian, a Bonn native with a love for the city Claire called home. Their first date—a mix of unexpected twists, laughter, and starlit conversations—marked the beginning of a remarkable story. Their love grew through countless adventures together, traveling across Europe and the U.S. They explored picturesque canals in the Netherlands, hiked the Swiss Alps, basked in the beauty of Spain, and marveled at Budapest’s charm. From the vibrant streets of Copenhagen to scenic escapes in Italy and Sweden, each trip added a new chapter to their story. Across the U.S., from Oregon to Hawaii to California and New York, they’ve created memories that reflect their shared passion for discovery and connection. Despite the challenges of long-distance love, Claire and Fabian’s bond only grew stronger, weathering life’s milestones, difficulties, and even a pandemic. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, resilience, and love—including welcoming their beloved kitten, Chili, into their lives. Their journey of love reached a beautiful milestone with a surprise picnic by the Rhine, where Fabian proposed amidst laughter and cherished memories. This moment led to joyous wedding celebrations in Copenhagen and Bonn, surrounded by loved ones who have been part of their incredible story. Looking ahead to a grand celebration in the U.S. in 2025, Claire and Fabian invite you to join them as they continue their journey of love—a story filled with laughter, exploration, and an unshakable bond.

Welcome to Our Wedding Travel Guide!We are so excited to celebrate our wedding with you and would love to support your travel plans to New York! Since many of our guests are coming from different parts of the U.S. and Europe, we have put together this guide to help you plan your stay. Our wedding will take place in Setauket, NY, on Long Island—a beautiful area with scenic beaches, charming towns, and plenty of activities to explore. Whether you are making it a short trip or extending your stay, we have included recommendations for where to stay, things to do, and great nearby destinations if you want to see more of the region! Getting to Setauket &amp; Travel InfoFrom New York City (Manhattan)⏱️ Time: ~1.5 hours (without traffic)🚗 By Car – The easiest way to get to Setauket is by car. The drive from NYC takes about 1.5-2 hours, depending on traffic. If renting a car, consider booking early, especially in summer. 🚆 By Train (LIRR) – Take the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) from Penn Station or Grand Central (Manhattan) to Stony Brook Station. The ride is about 1 hour 45 minutes, and Stony Brook is a 10-minute Uber/taxi ride to Setauket. You can check schedules at mta.info. 🚕 By Uber/Lyft – A direct Uber/Lyft ride from Manhattan costs $100-$150, depending on time of day.✈️ From JFK Airport – If you are flying into NYC, renting a car is the easiest option, but you can also take the AirTrain + LIRR. Travel time from JFK to Setauket is about 2-2.5 hours by public transport or 1.5 hours by car. From LaGuardia Airport, suggest to Uber/cab to Jamaica Station. Where to StayOur wedding is in Setauket, but you can also look for accommodations in:Stony Brook – A charming university town, just 10 minutes from the venue.Port Jefferson – A picturesque harbor town with great restaurants and ferry access to Connecticut.Smithtown &amp; Hauppauge – More suburban with additional hotel options.
