Our Wedding

It all started in 2022 when Nicholas needed some dental treatment and walked into Claires office for a root canal. He sat down, not knowing what to expect (probably some Novacaine) but when she walked into the room, said, Hi, Im Dr. Papp and shook his hand, he was immediately speechless. That was the first time she got on his nerves and made his jaw drop (we love a good dental pun). After a few weeks and some butterflies in his stomach, Nicholas asked Claire out on a date after and they immediately hit it off. They made homemade quesadillas from their favorite restaurant (Taco Bell). They had late nights playing Nintendo, making funny videos, adventures with the dogs and they had established their wolf pack. The rest is history!

Claire and Carlyn met in 2019 when they both started dental school in their mid-20s and became instant best friends on her mimosa-filled boat, the Aquaholic. Throughout the four years of school, they endured tears, laughs, celebrations and grew into their careers as bad ass dentists. After graduation, Carlyn and her family moved to North Carolina and that's a big reason why Claire ended up in the beautiful Lake Norman area. Claire looks up to Carlyn because she such a strong woman with a heart of pure gold, not to mention she is an amazing influence as a mother to four adorable boys!

Brendan have been close with Nick for about 23 years, since the day Brendan was born to be exact.  As Brendan and Nick have gotten older, their brother bond has grown stronger. Although you may catch them arguing over who is the better snowboarder, they definitely have a great time together. Whether it’s snowboarding or talking about their anime obsession, they really enjoy having similar interests to bond over. Nick knows he can count on Brendan for a late night, multiple hour video game sesh. Nick feels he is blessed to have Brendan as his best man. 

Brendan Rodrigues

Amy has been an important part of Claire's life since they both moved to Charlotte during the pandemic and they instantly became best friends. Oddly enough, she was friends with Claire's family, Andrew and Brooke in California prior to the move! Together, they have gone through a lot of personal growth, late nights, laughs, country music and Watson-filled fun. Amy is the kind of friend that puts others before herself and has been a role model for Claire. Claire cannot imagine getting married without her standing by her side.

Casey and Nick wrestled on the same team in high school and then worked together for eight years after.  They’ve been through thick and thin and all life's changes in between. Casey and his family are always in for a game night; starting with homemade pizzas, then ends very late with Nelly blasting on the speakers, Nick and Casey yelling while they arm wrestle or celebrating goals in foosball. Whether it’s on the golf course, on the boat, or in the garage, you can find them laughing and having a blast.

Caitlyn is Nick's sister but over the last two years has become a close friend to Claire. Caitlyn is one of those rare people that is and always will be there when you need them. She is the person who can be relied on 100%. Whether that be a listening ear, a voice of reason or you’re in the mood for chicken cutlets; thank God she lives close by! All jokes aside, Caitlyn is a strong, faith-filled, inspiring mother and friend who Claire looks up to. 

Caitlyn Vargas

Luis is married to Nick’s sister Caitlyn and is an inspiration father and husband.  Luis leads by example through Christ and is someone Nick really enjoys to call part of his circle.  Most of the time, you can find them drinking a cider and dueling in fun competition. Whether it’s Pickleball, Mario strikers, or a coin toss, they are probably having a blast.  They tend to team up for the weekend parlay though. Luis and Nick are extremely close and Luis is definitely someone Nick can count on.

Brooke has been a staple in Claire's family for almost half of her life, married to Claire's oldest brother Andrew.  From her iconic parties to a thoughtful card for every occasion, Brooke is the type of person that puts others first while having the best time and ensuring those around her are doing the same. She is one of the most selfless individuals you'll ever meet. Claire and her have many memories from Cabo to trips across the US to see each other. She is also a fantastic and inspirational mother to Claire's niece Annabelle and Claire couldn't be more proud of her as a wife, mom and sister-in-law. 

Brooke Papp

Andrew and Nick started hitting it off when they first met on a California holiday trip between (expensive and curse-filled) golf rounds and random $1 Apple Pay transfers. You could put Nicholas and Andrew in an empty room and they would be able to entertain each other for days (you can tell who wrote this sentence). Between both having outgoing personalities and their passion for politics, it's hard to get these two to stop talking. Nick admires Andrew as a father, husband and family-man and always looks forward to trips with Claire's brothers to make more memories!

Married to Claire's brother Ryan, Molly has been a fun-loving and great addition to the Papp family.  She is always down for a beer (or the tequila shots in Cabo we won't mention) and a good time. Molly is always laughing (mainly at Claire's jokes as she has the same sense of humor as Ryan). Each time they get together, they pick up right where they left off.  Molly and Claire have created amazing memories any chance they get but we won't bore you with those, you'll just have to see them in action at the wedding, probably singing country music!

Nick really appreciates Ryan for his experienced beer advice, his love for country concerts and especially Ryan's "subtle tells" about when to hit or fold at the Blackjack table. In all seriousness, they have shared some memories and moments that made Nick realize what a trusty, stand up guy Ryan is and always will be. From trips to Greece, Mexico, Virginia or the west coast, they always find a way to create a memory. They both share a love for watching hockey with their girls and creating memories on sea or shore.

Eddie and Nick have been friends since the ripe ages of middle school days. Back then, you could probably find them listening to Limp Bizkit on the way to school or arguing about how to save the world. Even through their love for bickering with one another, they are more like brothers than friends. Throughout the years, they have witnessed each other through significant milestones and decades of life but their friendship has never wavered. Nick is excited to have such a long-standing friend by his side on this important day.

Eddy New

This friendship unknowingly started before Nick and John ever even hung out. They knew each other in New York but did not become buddies until both of their families moved to NC. Between their visionary outlook on life to their similar upbringings, John and Nick's friendship is special because they are able to have fun regardless of the time or place. You can find them laughing with Nerf guns pointing at each other to arguing who has the better fade. They love good competition but also know at the end of the day, they've got each others backs.
