We love going to this amazing tequila bar right near our old neighborhood, Highland Park. Its got a great vibe and a delicious menu of cocktails. Also try their food truck, Mezon--it's got the 4th best burger in B'ham!

Another Highland Park favorite is Freddy's Wine Bar. They have a constantly rotating menu of wines from all over the world. We've had many a nightcap at this place.

A great activity for Saturday morning. Our favorite routine is waiting in the insanely long line at Red Cat Café for a coffee, grabbing a few pastries at Hinkel's Bakery, roaming around the vendors thinking about buying something, getting a breakfast burrito to share from Homewood Gourmet, and then finding a spot to people watch while eating our breakfast. Top it off with grabbing a mimosa or two at The Lumbar.
He suggests: Foccacia at Hinkel's Bakery

One of our top-favorite spots in the city. Some of the best food we've had and a great date night spot if you want to grab a drink and play some arcade games. We come here year-round to watch football, basketball, baseball, whatever you prefer.

Our absolute favorite place to grab a beer--hands down! Trimtab is such a great place to hangout, especially when the weather is nice and you can sit outside. We love to come here on Saturdays during football season to get a bite to eat at their food truck and have a few drinks. Their beers are out of this world, everything is good.

One of our favorite restaurants in town (definitely Claire's all-time favorite). This tapas restaurant is great if you want to choose a few dishes and share or they have big enough plates to keep them to yourself! The margarita menu is delicious, highly recommend if you want a great dinner spot!
He suggests: Fried Duck Empanadas
She suggests: Prickly Pear Margarita and Red Snapper Al Mojo de Ajo
Head to Mom's Basement for a divvy, low-key night. We enjoy coming here with friends to have a frozen cocktail or several beers, a round of pool, or playing pinball. Sometimes they even have a DJ or a live band. Bring a photo of your own mom and they'll hang it on the walls!
He suggests: Head-banging to live music
She suggests: Grapefruit High Noon
The best Detroit-style pizza in town. No one does it like Uncle G's. They're often found at Ghost Train Brewing (another good brewery in town), but check their social media to see where they might be that weekend.
He suggests: The Prince
She suggests: Cool It Down
Another great pizza option. The Lakeview location has a great patio, perfect for dinner and a cold beer. We love splitting the Wedge salad and a pizza.
He suggests: The Lakeview or Soul Pie
She suggests: Hot Mama
Our first date spot! Also a great place to come and relax while you're in town. Walk around the park, throw a frisbee, lay out on a blanket, whatever you feel. Right across the street are Red Cat Café, a nice spot to grab a coffee, and Hero Doughnuts, which has yummy burgers and treats.
He suggests: Dad Burger
She suggests: Super Crunch
