Claire's POV

I had thought that Caleb was a cutie since my freshman year of college, but it wasn't until the fall of my sophomore year that I really started crushing on him. I never really cared much about going to intramural games before, but when I found out he was playing on Laguna's kickball team I made sure to be at every single one of those games. I also never missed a day of Bible because I knew I'd run into him leaving class every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon.

He was best friends with my roommate's boyfriend, so naturally I would talk to her about him every chance I got in hopes that she and her boyfriend would set Caleb and I up. Luckily for me, they did! Caleb asked me to his informal, and we began talking every single day. I looked forward to the days I had Bible because I knew he'd be sitting on the steps of Provine waiting on me to get out of class so we could talk.

Soon after he asked me to his informal we decided to go on a double date to the fair with his best friend and my roommate. After we got done at the fair, Caleb and I went to dinner together at Newk's and stayed there talking until the restaurant closed. After that we were pretty much inseparable, and he asked me to be his girlfriend about a month later. It was the second easiest "yes" I've ever said in my life followed by when he asked me to marry him two years later!

Caleb's POV

Claire and I met initially through mutual friends in the spring of 2021. We didn't see each other much that semester, however, that fall our mutual friends schemed to get me to ask her to my informal. One night we started talking and instead of beating around the bush, I decided to ask her immediately to my informal. Thankfully she said yes. We began to talk everyday, and I would get to one of my classes early right when her's was finishing so that I could see her.

For our first date we went with the same friends to the fair. I was so nervous that day. We were at the fair for a while and then went to Newk's where we talked for three hours. We had so much in common, and I really just appreciated being in her company. I didn't want the night to ever end. Just being around Claire from the beginning was joyful. She lit up the room when she walked in. It quickly became evident to me that this was the type of girl who doesn't come around often.

Despite having feelings for her, I wanted to take it slow. We went on dates for about a month. It was one of the most memorable months of my life. I knew I wanted her to be my girlfriend. When it finally came time to ask her to be my girlfriend, I was once again nervous. Even with it being a cool November night, I was still sweating. It took me at least twenty minutes to ask her. Not only did she say yes, but then I got to ask her two years and one month later to be my wife. When I asked her on November 15th, 2021 to be my girlfriend, it was one of the best decisions of my life.
