It all started when Shane and Jessica decided to play matchmaker. Claire wasn't sold on being set up after many scarring online dating experiences. But trusting her best friend she agreed to a date. The date didn't come right away. There was much texting (too much in Claire's mind) before the first date was set. Initially it was supposed to be an O's game at Camden Yards but the weather had other ideas. The first date ended up being bowling and grabbing pizza after. Back to the bowling...let's just say its was interesting with two very competitive people. Both parties weren't "all in" on the relationship until the second date. The second date was more their style. Sushi and A Handmade's Tale at Claire's condo. The second date solidified the relationship. There was a connection that made it feel like Claire and Greg had known each other for years. The relationship progressed naturally from there with UFC fight nights and take out and shows on the couch. Before they knew it Claire was moving into Greg's childhood house--"Westlawn". In April of 2023 Greg got down on one knee at a nature trail in the Villages to ask Claire the question she's been waiting for her entire life. And of course she said yes! They have had many adventures together; Nags Head, The Villages, Saint Augustine, a cabin getaway in Luray and they have many more adventures to come. Westlawn is now a full house with Greg, Claire, Bradley and the newest and cutest addition....Lynyrd Jagger Goldsmith. We sadly lost one of our pack members, Rachel, who is chasing the mailman in dog heaven. They are looking forward to continuing their life love story and can't wait to see what the future holds!

I met Jessica “J-Mills” 15 years ago at Radford University. We were sophomores living the dream. Little did we know that we would join the same sorority, become big and little sisters in ZTA, live together our super senior year, stay connected while living in many places after graduating, and winding up being neighbors in Westlawn. We're still living the dream 15 years later but with many more adulting responsibilities. Jessica is a beautiful human being that has been my rock in so many moments of my life. I wouldn't want anyone else standing by my side on my special day!

I’ve known Shane Mills since Falls Church Kiwanis little league (he knew of me…I didn’t know of him!). Little league turned into being best friends through out our high school days at Marshall. Not only did I gain a best friend but I gained a brother. Shane is hands down the most selfless, kind and loving human being. He’s like a second son to our family. Shane has stood by my side through my ups and downs and I’m blessed he will be standing by my side on my wedding day.

Travel and Hotel

With personal experience if you're going to visit Jockey's Ridge I would go in the late afternoon/evening when the sand is not super hot. It's a beautiful place for a sunset since the dunes connect to the sound (west).

Jockey's Ridge State Park

Make sure that you dress appropriately (sweatshirt--it's right on the sound and can get chilly at night) and BRING BUG SPRAY!! You can get there early and walk around. It is on Fort Raleigh National Historic Park and has informational signs throughout the property.
