Lance and I first met in the 8th grade when he moved to Cabot from Conway. Lance and I were introduced by my best friend, London Risher, and then discovered we had a few classes together. I always thought Lance was cute, but I never really talked to him too much. Halfway through the school year, Lance’s dad accepted a job in Louisiana, and he moved. A few months after he moved, we started talking here and there. Here and there, then turned into every day 24/7. We texted, called, and FaceTimed daily for almost a year. One day, Lance told me that his dad had a job interview in Arkansas, and he was coming for the weekend. We made arrangements, and he came and stayed at my house. It was the best weekend ever! I knew I was in trouble if his dad didn’t get the job because, whew, I liked him! The weekend ended, and it was time for us to drop him back off at the hotel and say our goodbyes. I cried like a baby back to the car. A few minutes after we left, I got a call from Lance saying his dad got the job and they were moving back. I was SO excited, and that’s when my dad knew he was in BIG trouble, LOL!! This boy was not going anywhere. Lance moved back, but this time to Sheridan, AR, about an hour from Cabot.

We did long distances for a couple of years, making time to see each other almost every weekend. We weren’t old enough to drive for the first year, so shoutout to our parents for meeting halfway at a sketchy gas station on Dixon Road EVERY SINGLE SATURDAY!! After a couple of years, Lance moved again, but this time to Greenbrier. Now, we were old enough to drive! We continued dating throughout high school and into college. We had always talked for a long time about marriage, but I knew it was really serious when he asked my dad to go to breakfast about four months ago. Luckily, my dad said yes! On October 29, 2023, my birthday, Lance asked me to marry him! Without any hesitation, I immediately said “YES”! Now, here we are planning a wedding!!

Lance and I have been long-distance and semi-long distance for five years now and are SO ready to finally be in the same spot! Our relationship has not always been easy, and we’ve faced many challenges. Still, we are so excited to start our new life together and conquer all the new challenges with each other and also embrace the happy, exciting times! We are SO excited about this special day and can’t wait to share it with the most important people in our lives!
