This is not a costume party, this is your Met Gala!Think Gatsby meets Studio 54 by way of a very good wedding. If you’re wondering whether it’s too much, it’s probably just right. Queens

Start with: Cocktail or formal attire.Art Deco inspiration: Elegant silhouettes, beading, sequins, satin, silk, fringe, dramatic jewellery and vintage-inspired glamour.Electric Boogaloo: A bold colour, a statement sleeve, sparkle, metallics, an incredible accessory or the dress you’ve been saving for a special occasion.Think: Art Deco heiress, silver-screen icon, glamorous socialite, fashion editor on holiday in the French Riviera.Please avoid: Casual daywear, denim, overly casual footwear, white or anything that doesn’t feel celebration-worthy.

Dards

Start with: A suit. A tuxedo is highly encouraged (minus the conductor tails).Art Deco inspiration: Double-breasted jackets, peak lapels, waistcoats, polished dress shoes, silk scarves, bow ties, suspenders and classic tailoring.Electric Boogaloo: Colour, patterned dinner jackets, statement ties, bold socks, interesting textures, vintage accessories, a watch or something that makes you feel like the main character.Think: Gatsby, Bond, jazz club owner, eccentric millionaire, impossibly stylish grandfather.Please avoid: Business attire, chinos, polo shirts, sneakers, shorts, or anything you might wear to the office.
