Our Wedding

Tyler and Clara met in Jacksonville, FL, during the early summer of 2023. Tyler was working at the Mayo Clinic as a registered nurse in the cardiac transplant unit, and Clara was in her dermatology residency training. They first met on a dating app, and after just a couple of days of chatting, they were eager to meet in person. They decided to meet up at a rooftop restaurant, and while there was no expectation for the first date, it was exceptional. They talked for over four hours, sharing stories about themselves, their families, and their goals and aspirations in life. After saying goodbye, Tyler wasted no time securing a future date. The following weekend, they attended a Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (minor league baseball) game and had a blast. At this point, they both knew this relationship had potential. As it began to feel too good to be true, they realized the next important step was introducing their dogs. They decided to have their third date grilling dinner at home and allowing the dogs, Callie and Jager, to become acquainted. Turns out, Callie and Jager were the perfect pair. Their relationship continued to grow over the next year. After a very busy chief resident year for Clara, she began her job search. Tyler decided it was time to pursue his next goal: getting his DNP (Doctor of Nursing Practice). As they talked about the future, they decided that Tallahassee, FL (Clara’s hometown) would be their home. Tyler was accepted into the DNP program at Florida State University, and Clara accepted a position as a dermatologist in a private practice in Tallahassee. Two weeks after moving to Tallahassee, Clara took her board certification exam for Dermatology—and passed! To celebrate this accomplishment and have a weekend away together, they decided to visit Apalachicola, FL, the day after her exam. That day, they were walking around the town, shopping, eating, and enjoying each other's company after a stressful few weeks. Later that afternoon, while standing on a dock admiring the river, Tyler knelt to one knee and asked Clara to marry him. They are excited for their future together and the many adventures to come. They can’t wait to start this new chapter by celebrating their marriage with those who are important to them on November 9, 2025, in the city where they met: Jacksonville, FL.
