The ceremony and reception takes place at The Orchard:

The ceremony starts at 4pm. Please do not arrive before 3pm. If you do, you will be turned away. 
 
Presents aren't necessary as your presence is enough. But if you decide to, please send larger gifts to our apt in Chicago as we will be driving back to Chicago. 
 
If you start to develop covid symptoms before the wedding, please do not attend and let us know. If you develop covid symptoms after the wedding, please let us know.

Our Wedding

Depending on who you ask, you’ll get two different stories of how we met. If you ask Clare, she will say that they were working on the ramp at PDX, and she tried to start a conversation with Sedrik, and he ignored her. If you ask Sedrik, he will say that were too many people in the break room, and he didn’t hear her try to start a conversation with him.&nbsp;

How We Met

Clare had found Sedrik on Facebook and tried to hang out with him multiple times. One time, Clare tried to invite him over for a small kick-back (little chill party), and Sedrik thought she said kickball, and said it was too late and dark for kickball. Finally, after multiple invitations, Sedrik finally came to Clare’s, Daylynn’s (Matron of Honor) and Shelby’s place for an ugly sweater party. The rest was history. Crystal (Sedrik’s grooms woman) knew immediately as he was grinning ear to ear the next time he was at work. But unfortunately, we weren’t supposed to date co-workers on the ramp, so we kept it on the down low. Our first date was a weekend away in Hawaii (thank goodness for flight benefits!).

How it started

Shortly after the first kiss, Clare was invited for a face-to-face with a major airline as a flight attendant (her dream job!) the following month. Sedrik told her to go for it, and let’s see what happens next. Clare received a contingent offer with the airline and would have to go to Dallas for training for 6.5 weeks. Clare moved to Chicago after training, and Sedrik stayed in Portland as he was finishing his masters in Social Work. About a month after he graduated, he moved to Chicago so they could live together!&nbsp;

How long distance started

3 years after living together, plenty of adventures, some more school for Sedrik, and a pandemic, he finally popped the question while we were fishing at a family cabin up in Michigan! We love the PNW, and that is why we have decided to get married there - we cannot wait for July 17, 2022!!

PDX is the closest major airport to Hood River. We recommend flying into there! Fun Fact: PDX is where Sedrik and Clare met!

Portland International Airport

We recommend staying in Hood River because it's about an hour from Portland. Also, the freeway is not lit well, so driving back after the wedding will be dark.

Wherever you stay in Hood River we recommend booking early - hotels and AirBnBs/VRBOs will fill up quickly! We recommend staying in either Hood River or White Salmon. There is a $1 toll from Washington to Oregon and vice versa.

We recommend getting a rental car while you're in town! However, the airport fees are silly. Take the MAX (train) into the city, and find a rental car nearby!

Also, there is no uber/lyft in Hood River!
