IT’S WEDDING WEEK! We are so excited to see you! Please note that traffic will be heavy in New Hampshire this weekend, so we’d recommend giving yourself plenty of extra time during your travels!

Our Wedding

The night Josh and Clare met was the first (and last) time they have ever shared a single, personal-sized pizza. Misreading hunger pangs for first-date butterflies, Clare was dazzled by Josh’s mismatched fuzzy rainbow socks, while Josh was taken aback by Clare’s nonchalant “WAZZUP” as a formal greeting. It was here they discovered Clare had been messaging Josh’s roommate on another dating app, and after closing down the restaurant, Josh triumphantly skipped home to deliver the news of his victory. The following months were a flurry of walks with Josh’s dog (and Clare’s future cuddle buddy), Nola, among the vibrant New England leaves. The days were filled with Josh winning Clare over by baking her (unintentionally slimy) pear galettes, delivering watermelons at every visit, and driving Clare to her slew of medical appointments after she did so much yoga she damaged her nerves. Clare swept Josh off his feet by leaving small, hand-painted moons adorned with notes in his apartment to find while she was away, letting him meet her parents after one month of dating (with ample amounts of coercion from Patty), and buying Nola presents in the form of festive collars (that were, apparently, “not her color”). Over the years, Josh and Clare discovered that they shared many of the same values and dreams, including having a freezer that is always stocked with ice cream, and finding ways to trap all of their friends and families at a venue for four days while they get married. This is not to say there weren’t some major differences, too- Clare had to break the news that she actually had not taken a liking to Josh’s creepy antiqued paintings of men that embellished the bathroom walls, while Josh learned that Clare has a bad habit of leaving the fridge door wide open. Some of these differences, however, were for the better- Clare introduced Josh to the importance of planning and structure, and Josh showed (forced) Clare to see the opportunities that lie in impulsivity and figuring it out as you go. Now, they are ready to continue this dance and formally become partners for life, bringing out in each other what they cannot do alone, with the people they love the most.

How it Went Down

Our Story

You may have seen him starring on your local nature TV channel showcasing a flying squirrel, or heard him bellow “approaching Terminal A” on your ride to the airport via the Phoenix SkyTram. For one night only, you can hear Emmy-award winner Chuck Emmert say the very important words that will become Clare and Josh’s wedding ceremony.

From her days hand-sewing ocean-themed beach towels for birthday parties, to her more recent pastimes which include producing endless meals (that are “really easy!”) so fantastic that it made Clare a restaurant snob-  Patty will, once more, demonstrate her superhuman abilities to put on an event that leaves you wondering “Was Martha Stewart here?” After trying our wedding cake, however, you’ll realize that even Martha couldn’t bake that good. Fortunately for us, Patty can.

Attending this wedding and trying her hardest not to upstage the bride (impossible when you’re as beautiful as she), Lauren has earned the title of Woman of Honor for her key role in selecting the wedding wardrobe, being the ultimate hype girl, and providing the world’s cutest ring bearer. Making her first appearance at a sibling’s wedding, Lauren will be fluffing the veil, keeping the dance floor alive, and in general, gracing you all with her impeccable fashion and beauty (did I mention she’s beautiful?).

Ok, that’s not completely true. What he lacks in contributing to the planning (and despite refusing to be the flower boy), he makes up for with his brilliance and charm. If you find yourself in need of a friend, Frank’s your guy. Looking for a drinking buddy? Frank. Dental emergency? Frank. Wondering who that guy is, shirtless and slumbering in the woods at 3am on the night of the wedding despite Bre’s best efforts? Frank.

The temperature in Tamworth typically falls between 41 and 57 degrees this time of year. Please note that the wedding ceremony will be at night and outdoors, so layers are encouraged!

Whats the vibe?

Flying In

The Preserve is about 2 hours north of Boston near North Conway, New Hampshire. Portland International Jetport (PWM) is 59 miles away, and Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) is 119 miles away. Please feel free to text Clare and Josh if you are looking for a carpool buddy!

Driving

There is free parking onsite at The Preserve. Please note that due to the holiday weekend and peak foliage, there will likely be heavy traffic getting into and out of this area- so we recommend giving yourself plenty of extra travel time!

Accommodations

Visiting New Hampshire in the fall is a very special time- we are so excited to experience the magic of the changing leaves with our family and friends! There will be a heavy influx of tourists during our wedding weekend in particular, which can limit availability for accommodations. We recommend booking as early as possible! The Preserve has recommended using a combination of hotels and AirBnb's/ VRBOs in Meredith and North Conway, with their favorites linked here. We kindly request that guests only RSVP "Yes" after they have secured accommodations. If you cannot find accommodations, feel free to text Clare or Josh- many of our family and friends have extra room in their AirBnB's!
