(2015) Freshman year

Austin and Clare first met in their freshman year of college at Oklahoma State University. They were both involved in choir and selected to be in OSU’s top choral ensemble. Clare was a Vocal Music Education major and Austin an Economics and International Business major.

They went through their first semester without ever really talking to one another. They came to know each other better in the Spring semester through mutual friends: Nick Chabot and Emily Sabetti (now McCay).

One day on a choir trip to Kansas City, their friend Nick messaged Clare about Austin in an attempt to set them up - if you know Austin at all, then you know he was mortified. Clare thought this was a joke and laughed it off.

(2016) Sophomore year

Fast forward a year later. Clare and Austin had the opportunity to travel abroad to Italy on a choir tour. This trip is when Clare started to realize she might have feelings for Austin. Little did she know, Austin felt the same, but neither of them were ready to say anything.

(2017) Junior year

They remained friends and continued to become closer over the next year. They played on many intramural teams together and bonded through OSU sports. Friends continued to ask them both if they would ever date each other, but they both always thought the other wasn’t interested.

(2018) Senior year

One of Clare’s closest friends, Emily, knew Clare had feelings for Austin, and had suspicion that he did as well. She decided it was finally time to put a plan into action. Through some (somewhat) subtle conversation, she opened the door for Austin to finally ask Clare out. The happy couple has been together ever since.
